I should be asleep now. Man.
Internets! I come to you with yet another story about my ~lovely~ roommate, but this time I refrained from being a dick in dealing with it! I think! And I was so proud of myself I just had to write this down.
So basically to reiterate my living situation, our dorm rooms are two separate small bedrooms that each have lockable doors, a small mini hallway thing that is just the bathroom and the mini pantry/kitchen/fridge I share with Sabrina and then the actual door that goes out to the hallway itself. We live in the very last corner of the fifth floor. All the locks in the rooms are opened with our main house-key, that is also for our mini-mailboxes and the actual entrances of the dorm building itself. Ahh, these keys. Sabrina actually once lost her key already whilst rollerblading in the park or something like that this spring, and had to pay the fine for a new key AND the costs of the dorm handymen actually installing a new main lock for our room AND the cost of getting an extra copy for me because my key was also affected. The days before that happened were a hassle where I couldn't lock the outer door when I left for uni, because I'd lock Sabrina out otherwise. But okay, that happens! I guess! But she continues to be really stupid with her keys, and actually somehow lost her new mailbox key and is unwilling to pay for a new one, so she actually now gets most of her mail via prying open the aluminum mailbox. Which as one would suspect isn't that effective and looks really suspicious, to boot.
But what really gets me is how she repeatedly actually FORGETS that she sometimes leaves the key still stuck in the outer door outside, where TECHNICALLY IF WE DIDN'T LIVE AT THE VERY END OF THE FLOOR, some random fuck could just walk by and snatch it. I mean, our dorm is safe and solid and all that, but there have been some random thefts because some people don't believe in locking their doors and shit, I am so paranoid about stuff like this. When I go to bed, I have my keys stuck outside my door, since I BELIEVE THAT THE OUTER DOOR IS LOCKED. God, I am actually happy that I am that type of paranoid fuck who actually randomly gets up to rattle the lock again just to make sure the door is closed. Makes all the false alarms okay when the testing rattle of the door at 3AM yesterday ACTUALLY TURNS TO BE UNLOCKED AND WITH THE KEY STILL OUTSIDE. Where it probably was since 8PM and Sabrina came in her with random boytoy/male companion dude. Gaaah. Never have I been more happy to live in the dark dark corner of our floor :| WOMAN THERE ARE THINGS CALLED KEYCHAINS THAT MAKE SURE YOU DON'T FORGET YOUR KEYS. FUCKING LOOK INTO THEM. But yesterday I just locked the door and left the key stuck there, so she probably didn't even notice that that wasn't how things were last night. I was so tempted to make some more notes to stick on the door. I was actually rolling around in bed before I finally fell asleep because I was so filled with the enormous urge to ALLCAPS at her. I mean, eff around with your mailbox keys as much as you want, I do not give a flying fuck, but once it actually affects your roommate too? DUUDE. Carmen says I should have just pocketed the key and then stuck a note on the door a la 'Missing something~??', but sakjfhjhs that wouldn't have ended prettily, even if it is an awesome idea. LE SIGH.
And man, I am apparently still pissed off about this, whoops! Good thing this is behind a cut lol.
Also got to see the movie Inkheart/Tintenherz with Carmen today. Lovely and heartwarming fantasy fare, good fun! ALSO FEATURES PAUL BETTANY SHIRTLESS (for a few scenes), which is an added incentive if I ever heard of one. Ashfinger's scenes were clearly the best, and his rapport with Farid and his ferret thing were hilarious. I would so watch a road movie of their excellent adventures! I am filled with a sudden urge to rewatch Paul Bettany in Wimbledon (♥ that movie). Speaking of movies/dvds, also dropped some cash at Saturn today for The Departed and a double-disk feature of Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead on DVD, woo! I mean, I already have numerous fakes of the latter, but this time I have the original DVD extras <33
I LEAVE YOU WITH THIS CUTE CLIP OF LEE PACE AND AMY ADAMS SINGING. I seriously love Lee Pace's voice, and apparently he sings quite nicely too, as this clip shows :>. Anyone know if he's read for any audiobooks??
