kaiserkuchen: (Vanity! The compulsion is so hard to res)
[personal profile] kaiserkuchen
Before I go to bed, here the post I was meaning to make ever since I was talking to [livejournal.com profile] laliandra and [livejournal.com profile] laulan on separate occasions about fashion and closet space. Uploading pics to Pbucket was so weird today, ugh why so laggy :(

Photobucket ...hello, standard issue dorm closet! This is actually my closet sorted out a fair bit, I took my prom dress back to Bangkok this summer (YEAH RIGHT "YOU MIGHT BE NEEDING THIS FOR BALLS" DAD, WISHFUL THINKING MUCH lol) and have always moved bits back to my grandparent's place. Though never too much, because I am apparently a person who needs to have enough clothes to technically be able to weather a month of not doing laundry, eventhough I actually just wear half of it all the time anyways. I LIKE COLLECTING THINGS OKAY.
EDITED TO ADD: And haaaa! I have just noticed that because I was wearing them/had them hanging elsewhere, you can't actually see the rest of my mini collection of plaid dresses. Of which I have three now (four plus the pinkish one later), in varying sleevelengths and shades of greenish to blue. Carmen actually now has orders to save me from myself whenever I start touching new plaid dresses I come across XDD

Photobucket ...closer shot! And a peek at my genius place-saving technique of just cramming as many dresses on one clothes hanger as possible. The blue and black striped one is actually pretty OTT and lulzy-- it has a giant applique/"leather" stitched skull on it that is wearing a jaunty sailor's hat! Totally forgot to take a picture of it, and probably will have to work up to wearing it again lol

Photobucket ...some dresses! I apologize for the loud background of my IKEA bedspread, but we work with what we have here. The ones on the left are my two personal favorites, the light reddish-purple one is actually one of Carmen's rare "baggy on her but just right on me" dresses/tops that she gave me (normally I am the one passing on my too-small or 'generously estimated' tops lol), the other purple one is actually an old H&M one from here but is still awesome, I "borrowed" the green one from my mom and the right one is what I am wearing at the moment. It has a hoodie! And pockets!

Photobucket ...MMMH, clashing colors and patterns, amirite? To start from the left, the red shirtdress was actually one of the finds I made when browsing the fantastically trendy "fat girl" shop that I found in a department-store basement in Chiang Mai. Of course for Thai standards this just means that the dresses were just wider-cut that usual and more with a European size 44/46. They fit length-wise, but I just had to get them taken-in for the arms, chest and waist area at the tailors. Which was so worth it, and I regret that two of my perfect buys weren't done in time for my departure, and Ma refuses to pay the postage fees to send them to me now ;((. The trippy gold leaf one was a steal at 200 baht in Siam, and Carmen has already called dibs on getting to borrow it too. The pink and green tartan one is fantastically comfortable and boob-tastic, even if it seems like a scrap of fabric upon first viewing. The brown dress is one of the best buys I made on my lunch shopping breaks in BKK, it's basically a very mod bubble dress and for all that I thought it would look like a sack on me has actually been a dress that I've gotten loads of compliments on every time I've worn it.

Photobucket ...here a shot of my Rack o' Bags, though in retrospect I realize that my cute and colorful new Ritter Sport Schokolade bag and my scarfs are blocking basically the entire damn view. SOME OTHER TIME THEN. But suffice to say that I have around 20 bags in various sizes hanging on it. One can never say that I don't take my accessories seriously!

Photobucket ...because [livejournal.com profile] gwy wanted to see them, and because they are fab-- moi modeling the one pair of earrings that the brilliant Miss [livejournal.com profile] mcollinknight sent me from Canada-land ♥

Photobucket ...out and about in Vienna, and look what one can find! [livejournal.com profile] laliandra, I was so reminded of that one sms you sent and lol I was also tempted to send you a MMS with a pic, but didn't know if your phone was compatible and digicaaaaaam pics are superior always, so this one is for youuuu, bb!

Photobucket ...from all my years in Vienna, the short distance from the Pestsäule to the Steffel is probably one that I have more than adequately obsessively recorded via pics over and over again, but I simply can't get sick of it, and especially when it is X'MAS LIGHTS TIME. Expect some post in December with this exact same view just darker and with moaaaaar lights on lol.

Photobucket ...after our lunch in town (om nom nom French bistro Le Bol), we stopped by Mango and I tried on a bunch of dresses. This was a really tempting one and would've been perfect for a future office-look, but 59€ and dry-clean only seemed a bit too much for me now. Though it did make my rack look fantastic and actually noticable, lol. Maybe I will find something swank in Copenhagen...

IN OTHER NEWS, when I was over at her place today to absorb productive Yuletarting waves and watch TV on the side, I showed [livejournal.com profile] cheshire_tabby Adam Lambert's FYE video and she is weirdly ~~IMMUNE~~ to his awesome charm. Which is okay, and THAT JUST LEAVES MORE ADAM FOR MEEE. But dude, I do hope you realize that I will still be yammering at you about him anyways, eh? And there is no way that Gerard Way looks manlier that Adam. No fucking waaaaaaaaay~~

YOUR CLOTHES ARE ADORABLE AHH ♥ I can't pull off any of those hahaha. Or at least, I'd just feel really awkward in them? XD; Cute and ladylike aren't really applicable to 90% of my wardrobe derp :B *dresses like a dude*

Ugh Vienna is so pretty ;__; ♥ I want to live in Europe SO BAD. Can we trade lives for a bit? LOL XD

Dude, it's all a matter of ~~time~~ and slow changes! I had the longest phase where I dressed like a guy (baggy jeans, flannel manshirts, man shoes--okay I have large feet but still-- and like, sportswear 24-7. Which was ironic because I wasn't really an athlete, ahem), before I realized that I might as well enjoy my girlish youth while I can and that no matter what kind of weird self-conscious body issues I had, other people seemed to be rocking out with their fashion-selves out, and I might as well take the chance to have some fun with it, too. ALSO: DRESSES ARE AWESOME FOR THE SEKRITLY LAZY. It is an entire outfit! Slap on some earrings et voila! No lies, being lazy and not having to iron anything ever are like the two main components of Fashion a la Moi XDD

(also the whole dude clothes thing is obviously just my experience with it, so YMMV and all that ♥)

Have you ever been to Europe before? I totally want to visit the States one day, too-- lol LIFESWAP!!1 for a bit would be fun :DD

I actually have a fair amount of girly (dresses, skirts, leggings, tank tops), but I'm just too lazy to wear them when I'm in school XD The only time I can be girly AND lazy at the same time is during the summer, when I can just throw on a sundress and some flip-flops and I'm tan enough that I don't have to worry about makeup. PLUS: sunglasses ;D

I have indeed been to Europe :D I've been lucky enough to visit several countries (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Austria, and England), but there are still SO MANY places in Europe I want to see ;_;

And lolol I don't live in the States XD Neither am I American, jsyk ;) I'm Korean and I currently live in Vancouver, Canada :D It's beautiful up here, PLUS we have Jared and Jensen, so obv we win XD

Heh, I actually understand that, though my vanity would veer to dressing up for school just for the sole reason that Other People would see. Though this never was that hard at uni in Vienna... the people in my major don't believe in fashion?? Or something. And the tan times of summer are brilliant indeed-- I simply can never be bothered with make-up beyond random lipstick or liptints. Thankfully wearing glasses kind of gives you a pass on ~~elaborate~~ eye make-up lol.

Niiiiice! Portugal and England are actually two places that I've also always wanted to visit... but even in Europe itself, the prices for plane tickets are killer :< Where were you in Austria? Vienna only or did you see some of the other cities?

........LOLOL EPIC FAIL SELF, this is so embarrassing to have fallen into the old "most English-speakers on LJ are Americans" trap ^^ So sorry! And Vancouver, excellent~~ My parents actually also lived there for a while! My mom still complains about how cold the winters were there XDD And having Jared and Jensen obviously gives you guys like excellent bonus points ♥

Canadians are pretty laid back when it comes to fashion, but whenever I'm back in Korea I'm on total VANITY MODE lol. There is huuuge pressure to look good, at least for me, just 'cause everyone else seems to be so done up. This was also the case when I was living in Japan. DAMN YOU, FASHIONABLE ASIANS. *shakes fist* You double my getting-ready time :(

Lol but I do enjoy being all done up from time to time, of course ;)

I was something like five years old when we went to Austria, so I actually don't remember much XD;; It was in the winter time, and we went skiing there along with a bunch of other family members. I believe we stayed in a small village outside of Vienna (I don't remember big buildings or anything like that)? But yeah... I really shouldn't count Austria seeing as how I don't remember any of it, except for lots of snow. Also the small inn we stayed at had parrots in the lobby.

Hahaha no worries! ;) I think I'm one of the few people who are OCD/stalker-y enough to always check people's userinfo before friending them. I'm a creeper like that. And to be fair, I am American by birth XD I was born in the States but moved back to Korea when I was two. But I've attended international schools my entire life so English is my first language (just in case you're wondering ;D).

Vancouver winters aren't so bad! XD It's rainy and gloomy, but it's far from cold, at least by Canadian standards. (My friend lives in Calgary, and over there it starts snowing in SEPTEMBER. And sometimes it lasts 'till MAY. Wtfff.)

VANITY MODE, WARNING KLAXONS ON oh man I know the feeling! When I was interning at a PR/Ad agency in BKK this summer I was similarly feeling the heat, because damn if 90% of the office didn't have their fashion A-Game on every damn day. Most of the Viennese uni students or even just random people you see on the street aren't all that cutting edge with their fashion, too. We do have some pretty fierce old ladies who whip out their old skool fur coats and hats as soon as it's cold and look pretty awesome, though!

If there is a fitting occasion, it really is a very gratifying feeling ♥

Skiing near Vienna eh... Hmm, there are a few good ski areas there, but nothing quite like the alps in Salzburg/Tirol/Carinthia or whatever Kärnten is called in English lol. Awesome that you got to ski at such a wee age though, my first time was only like 2 years ago, and I have just managed to drag my skill-level up to "passable" lolol

Heh, normally I also do that, it's always so interesting to me to see how other people decorate their profiles and etc, but I seemed to have dropped the ball this time XD And woo, international school kid high-fiiiiiiiiiive! Mine was totally tiny though, sigh~~ Where did you live in Korea? Seoul?

.....winters in Calgary would probably be the death of me, aughhh I need way more sun than that D:! The gloom and wiiiiiiiind and cold in Vienna already effs me up sometimes, and we're like middle European standard-ish XDD

My dad is an avid skier, so he taught me when I was like, three XD He also taught me to snowboard ;D (After learning it himself when he was 47 lol.) But I haven't skied in over ten years XD; And I haven't boarded in about... four? Five? Yeah, it's been a while :P

*HIGH FIVES* I lived in Seoul~ :D I more or less grew up there... I say "more or less" 'cause we kept moving out and then moving back, lol. I also lived in Kobe, Japan for five years and Dallas, Texas (...yep) for three years.

The winter's been pretty mild so far in Vancouver! :o Nothing below 5 degrees Celsius, and even though it rains pretty much every day, it hasn't been that windy/cold. *knocks on wood*

MWA HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAA! Making picspams are fun, if only the process of uploading and resizing pics weren't such a goddamn hassle, I'd also probably be doing them more often XD

BUYING PRETTY CLOTHES IS MY HAPPY PLACE, and ngl dude I am always pleased when people say they are jealous of my haul ;DD ONE DAY WHEN WE EVENTUALLY MEET WE WILL GO SHOPPING AND BE AWESOME OR SOMETHING ♥

I JUST TRIED TO HUG MYSELF, WHICH IS ALWAYS A V WEIRD FEELING, BUT I DO IT FOR YOUUUUUU BB! And heee, glad the post amused you! I am very happy with the progress my wardrobe has been making since the summer of last year where I decided that Shit Has Gotta Change. I still maintain that it would look even better if I were living in Asia, but at least here I get to legit wear boots and coats and scarves XDD Do they have Ritter choc in the US, too? I am experiencing a weird revival in my love for it these past few months, om nom nom!

It is actually a fake Chanel bag, though it is one of my honest to god life goals to own a big name designer handbag before I am thirty. The Chanel bag fakes are pretty in in Bangkok right now, and I couldn't resist buying some ♥ Got one of the classic mini handbags for my BFF and a more practical uni tote one for me :Db And for like, 6€ a piece?

The only pricey handbag I own is a Juicy Couture one that I am still pretty psyched about, and it comes with a special satchel to keep it in so I store it somewhere else ^^

MINE TOO, I crave the 2.55 bag so much. One of my besties is a stewardess and going to BKK over Christmas, and I charged her with bringing me a fake back, that will have to do until I am rich and can afford a real one :)

OH GOD THAT BAG *_* Totally gorgeous and classic and ahhh ♥ Every now and then I go look at purse/hand bag blog entries about it and sigh forlornly XDD

And ahhh, that is v. practical! There are probably a bazillion more styles since when I was there (they had some pretty nice ones that did the whole quilting of the bag a bit differently).
