I must say that I am glad to have people in my life who shove my resisting self into the blinding rays of ~*TRUTH*~, as I am always happy to sail my good ship Let's Not Think About It Too Hard on the winding river of Denial. Kind of silly, but still true case in point:

(early this week)
KAZ: MAN EATING THE GIANT BAG OF GRADE-A WALNUTS THAT DAD GAVE ME IS FANTASTIC. BEST SNACK EVER, AND EVEN BETTER WITH ALL THE M√úSLI I EAT *munches throughout the day*
(later in the week)
KAZ: MAN I AM SOMETIMES GETTING A WEIRD FEELING IN MY CHEST. SURELY IT CAN'T BE FROM ALL THE WALNUTS, RIGHT? SHOULD I GOOGLE "WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I EAT TOO MANY NUTS IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME"? NAWWW SOMETHING THIS DELICIOUS COULD NEVER BE BAD *drizzles more honey on them, munches*
(today)
KAZ: HEY [livejournal.com profile] cheshire_tabby, IT'S NOT A BAD THING, RIGHT?? I MEAN, THERE IS STILL A THIRD LEFT IN MY BAG...
OLGA: ...actually, it isn't the best idea. At all. You should probably stop.
KAZ: .........DAMMIT.

Especially now that I checked and it actually was a 1 kg bag. Maaaan, I had this nice delusion going that it was less. And now I have to buy new snack food to mix things up a bit, even though I was trying to nom my way through the mass I already have. I still have two more 1kg bags of almonds and pine nuts, as well as a 250g pack of salted macadamias...

In other less blatantly ridiculous news,
I have somewhat come to terms with the fact that I am a bad twenty-something who generally is not a fan of clubbing, drinking alcohol and basically anything that ends with me running around town alone at night (especially when it's cold). Of course there are exceptions from time to time and I am not that misanthropic yet, but man do I generally feel better when I am spending the evening at home being comfortable. I mean, if one does something at night, what's wrong with just a nice dinner eating out? I suppose that my main beefs just are:
- I don't like the taste of alcohol (barring a few exceptions that don't actually have all that much alc in them), don't have the tolerance for it and thus don't enjoy spending money for it (shit ain't cheap, either!)
- I hate the smell of smoke and how it seeps into your hair and your clothing
- I hate how I'm always fucked up the next day, just from tiredness alone. Always brings my sleeping rhythms out of whack
- The music nearly never is as good as you'd want/expect/need. Everything is cramped and sweaty, which makes you thirsty, which results in needing to buy more drinks
Maybe I've just always had Not Ideal/ambivalent clubbing experiences, maybe I am jaded and already lazy, I don't know. Or perhaps my main reason is just that I don't like wandering around town alone at night, regardless of what I am doing, and okay-- that IS my main reason. My parents totally succeeded in making me paranoid, hah. There's just always that little voice in my head whispering unsaaaaaaaaaaaaaafe.

TL;DR: I cannot eat anything in moderation and am a total unfun reverse-vampire senior citizen (credit goes to [livejournal.com profile] laliandra for that term <33)

I also always assume that those are the best kind of shindigs-- especially if you have friends who help clean up and don't do dick moves like throwing up places etc etc. YOU ALWAYS GO TO BED IN YOUR OWN BED AND THAT IS AWESOME.

Yayyyy, glad you like the tuuuuuuuunes! DCook has a pretty swell voice, though he does have an enormous head and I feel weird about his looks sometimes. But that voiiiiiice! He also did a pretty sweet cover of Alice in Chains "Man in the Box" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGZmpImk8IA) and I like his version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIe4mycz75A&feature=related) of "Anodyne" that was originally sung (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzN0GvajcLA) by the actual singer of his old band the Mid-Western Kings.

AND YESSS FLORENCE + THE MACHINE ARE SO FUCKING FANTASTIC. I get serious chills every time I listen to "Cosmic Love", ngl. THAT SONGGGG. Also, this version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtL19qrwqSU&feature=related) of "My Boy Builds Coffins" is kind of great. I saw a most brilliant SPN vid set to it as well, ahhh <33

Dude, I totally feel you re: clubbing/partying/whatever it is us wild and crazy younguns are supposed to on weekends. I haaaaaaate the smell of smoke and the general sweaty B.O. that accumulates from really crowded areas. I'm a total music snob so there's no club on earth that'll ever play the music that I enjoy. And while I like alcohol, I hate paying obscene amounts of money for it and I REALLY hate feeling tipsy (let alone DRUNK).

And yeah, walking home alone late at night ANYWHERE is always kinda freaky. Even in Tokyo, which is a really safe city, I avoided staying out too late 'cause walking home I'd have to go down really quiet, dark streets x_x

My ideal Friday night is chillin' on the couch with a couple of friends in comfy clothes, watching TV or movies and sharing snacks.

Oh man, I wish more people in my immediate circle of friends would think the saaaaaaaaaame. And seriously, I don't mind when people smoke-- as long as it's somewhere with sufficient ventilation and I'm sitting somewhere waaay upwind from them. The smell of cold/stale smoke is seriously one of the most disgusting things everrrr. Smoking in clubs, or EVEN BETTER: ON THE FUCKING DANCEFLOOR is one of the biggest asshole things ever though. I've had friends who've been burnt that way or had marks on their outfits. UGHHH. Lol the movies/TV do always make clubbing look more fun than it often is-- and I reckon it really is because you just can't SMELL how it is XDD

It's just unbelievably creepy D: And again, probably another thing that we girls have had drilled in us to be extra super careful about :||.

YOUR IDEAL FRIDAY SOUNDS LIKE MY KINDA DEAL. DO WANT DO WANT :Db

In my defence, the reverse vampire part was mine, I never said you weren't fun! You are totally fun!

I think googling any phrase with nuts in is probably a dangerous idea.

It was yet again delightful to chat to you, even though most of it was making hopeless noises about ST fic. Sorry about the squeaking. Well. Kind of!

You are still my FAVOURITE for going and leaving me comments. I plan on re-reading them all a billionty times when I am having moments of TORTURED ARTIST ANGST.

Mwah!
