There are some new vague glimmers of hope, and if everything else fails I have dumped my pride and am totally not above hitting up any contacts my parents might have (so far I know that I could technically intern as an office admin at an offshore oil company if I really have nothing? Which ain't bad, and at least it's not BP those assholes :<)
There are signs that the reds are slightly dialing back their recent outbursts of Bad Decisions (because well DUH massive public outrage occurred over the hospital thing-- 4000 patients had to be moved to different hospitals! They're back in operation now, but still.) but this just means that they are still crazy nuisances that are prone to be erratic and dangerous (especially since the communication between the red factions seems to be crap and getting worse)
