1:0 GERMANY! MAN, WHAT A GAME. Hoo boy am I so happy Carmen and I watched it in a nice and comfortable cinema screening instead of in the packed-as-hell Fanmeile~ Apparently they had it under lockdown an hour before the game because the top capacity of SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND PEOPLE had already been reached. ...okay there was also the parallel game of Croatia vs. Poland going on in Klagenfurt, but TSSS who cared about that! No surprise the Croatians won, as they were undoubtedly still driven on by the powers of DARKNESS they possess D: (srsly the Croatians are scaaary :|).
I MUST SAY I was rooting for the Austrians at first, but that sure changed after seeing the way they were playing tonight! Serious(ly pathetic) chances at making goals WASTED! Albeit this was a sin the Germans were guilty of too, but not the the cringe-worthy extent we fucked up. An end tally of 22:11 fouls in comparison to the Germans was also bitter. Yes, the ref was a bit whistle-happy (but better like this than like the Croatia matches!) but the way that AUFHAUSER and POGATETZ acted was pure dickery. Especially when Aufhauser suddenly seemed to poke? or jab? something in Podolski's face just out of the blue! Howwwws about that being fucking unsporting? And apparently Pogatetz and Ballack also came to near-fighting words on the way to their locker rooms during halftime.
Best/interesting parts of the game in bullet points and beyond the cut now because of the LAZY:
_BOTH COACHES BEING BANNED FROM THE FUCKING FIELD AHAHAHAHAHAHA WHAT THE HELL XDD Go go Hicke and Jogi! Such a hilarious moment of '...what the hell just happened?!'
_THE AUSTRIANS CAN DO KOPFBÄLLE AGAIN wooo!
_Lehmann's entire saving actions this game, in particular the one time where he went out and latched on to that one shot and the dude's foot who was still kinda attached to it and WHAM CRASH! --but it looked very RARR and badass in action
_ ♥PHILIPP LAHM'S ENTIRE EXISTANCE♥! GODDD even the hideously and almost amusingly biased ORF Reporter was all about the Lahm-love. Dude was EVERYWHERE, doing awesome things, generally playing leaps beyond the Austrians and being FLINK LIKE A WIESEL-KÖNIG. HACHHH tiny skilled awesome dude!
_Speaking of tiny skilled awesome dudes, I was SO hoping for ♥Podolski♥ to score the second goal for Germany though, dude fucking earned it after it seemed like the Austrian players or at least a few of them (*coughAUFHAUSER*)kept roughhousing him, he made some pretty good attempts though-- that one shot? HOT DAMN that was a near-miss! (NOT LIKE KORKMATZ FROM OUR SIDE WHO FUCKS UP THE BALL 40 METERS FROM THE GOAL ARGH)
_BALLACK'S FREISTOSS WAS A THING OF BEAUTY. ROWR.
_And lastly I just have to reiterate how damn biased the ORF reporter was-- and he totally had a hate-on for Frings-- "Frings seems to be spending more time lying down that standing up!"; "Another weak attempt by Frings, of course!" and the 'best' one yet: "Pogatetz misses a pass, but then again, what Pogatetz does Frings already can do best." LOL BURNNN. What did Frings ever do to you, man?? XDDD
_Re:after game interviews, it was almost cruel to watch the ORF guy kinda callously grill the Austrian team captain (who already had REALLY RED EYES and kept swallowing, but kept it remarkably well-together and gave good answers) on their failure... D:
