kaiserkuchen: (BATMAN! Nananana DO EET)
In an act of SUPRISE!!kindness, Dad let me skive off work today! Well, if I did end up going I would have made a spectacular example for zombie!intern in action, what with the 1 1/2 hrs sleep but this was of course a welcome respite. Even if I highly suspect that Dad just wanted company because he has these few days off now. Bummed around the house a bit, played dog-paparazzo AND THEN SUCCEEDED IN CONVINCING DAD TO GO WATCH BATMAN!! Again. And GOD IT WAS STILL AWESOME ON THE SECOND VIEWING. All these details I could focus on like the Joker's individual tics! HARVEY DENT'S FACE (I BELIIEEEEEEEEEVE)! Rachel Dawes' amazing high-waisted wardrobe (I mean, seriously whaat)! How Eric Robert's/Sal Maroni's face makes me want to lol every time I see it! ...and just soak up the general feeling of SWEET SWEET GOTHAM CITY HAPPENINGS.

Best scenes of the movie for me are now firmly cemented as:
spoiiilers )

And what made the whole experience even sweeter? Dad going "...so this was actually a very good movie. Huh. Tell me more about this Joker actor person". MUSIC TO MAH EARS DADDY XDD Seems like 4 days of intense badgering and hint-dropping was indeed worth it. NEED MOAR ICONS NOW.

...and hmm! It's half past midnight alread o shiiit okay sleep now.

GIP! Finally got off my ass and set on to upload some new icons, mmmh fresh 'n new~ And speaking of the illustrious Mr. Dent, I am now able to gaze into his awe-inspiring visage every day when I toil at BK Mag. Yes I downloaded a fannish wallpaper on the company PC and it is awesomeeeee ♥

And speaking of the ~*internship*~ at BK Magazine-- here be my attempts to at least start blogging about it, if I wait for inspiration for a nice and tidy post I'd probably be done working there already. I mean, as it is it's already been nearly a month! And holy hell, how time flies when you're having fun (and trying to ignore a STEP5 deadline!). Admittedly I did have a few days off there due to public holidays, but it was when I was updating my page on the intern wiki (there is a wiki for everythiiiing these days) that I noticed that I don't really have all that an impressive body of work to my name.

The way it goes is that after the first week where you really just do grunt work and shadow the editors around their job, you get more and more freedom to do stuff like handle the smaller interviews on your own, columns, etc etc. With the kicker being that only some actually mean you get to have your by-line to it. And it just ended up that way that most of the stuff I had gotten on my to-do from the editors was fact-checking, research, stupid asking people on the street questions-- btw  I HAAAATE doing that, and it only took after the second time I had to do it to cement this opinion, but until you get 10 random people to actually say some decent sound bites or at least find some dudes who don't mind getting interviewed you become pretty damn pissed off at everything XDD--, online movie synopses... in short, it was a large amount of work, but besides one interview I did with an indie band, there was diddly-squat to my name. ...I mean, I actually don't need a writing portfolio? But it's like a matter of principle now lol and I am basically raising my hand and jumping up and down for every damn chance to do something that has my name behind it.
AWESOME WRITING TO-DO's NOW:
  • 'Lookalike' column w/ P Tak ...basically a "Dress like (EXAMPLE), here some chic and similar alternatives" deal. My topic? SPEED RACER BABY. Man, trawling Siam, Bonanza and MBK for the relevant stuff w/ P Tak was hella fun~
  • 'On the Bar' column on this jazzy/bluesy place  one of the photography interns and I checked out today  (Yut speaks German! I am of course teaching him all the ways to lose the precise grammar and speak like the real German hobo youth of  today :Dbbb). Am supposed to basically just give a snazzy profile of the place and why it awesome.
  • 'Escapes' column. This is just a simple round-up of current hotel deals and packages that are in the area (BKK and Thailand, overseas), written up a bit.
  • 'Train travel in Thailand'. CHOO CHOO BABY. Man researching this was so boring. And then the Deputy Editor told me that I could write the story myself if I wanted. I was all ' YAY! ...trains! I uh, love. ...trains *THINK OF THE BYLINEEE*'. First draft this Thursday and I have already started woo~
  • 'Scene-stealer' or 'State of the Art' interview with the curator of the new art museum in BKK. I can already see some quality time spent with a thai-eng/eng-thai dictionary to pimp up my art related vocab lolol
...and the best part about all this is, besides the train story, there aren't any real deadlines! But Imma try and get as much done as quickly as possible so I can do moaaaaaar (fashion bits!!). Tomorrow's my back-content online uploading day though, wargh. HAET UPLOADING CRAP TO THE WEBSITE. So tediousssssss.
That's all from me for now, tune in tomorrow?? for some possible FLASHBACK BLA :D
