Awwww, darling!! It's TOTALLY okay to prioritize one project over another! And no one should be able to get on your case if you're actually doing work for someone else already. Don't feel guilty! You're just doing your job awesomely well by being busy and dedicating yourself to a task. If they didn't get to you first, that is their problem! It's not a reflection on your j0b skillz. <3
