laulan who sacrificed sleeping in on her Sunday to listen to me yammer on. TIME-ZONES, ONE DAY YOU WILL CEASE TO BE IN OUR WAY. And then, I guess I COULD'VE been productive, but I was again lured off the tracks by the siren song of NOT reading 20K ++ fic epics of my eensy Blackberry screen.
INCEPTION. A pretty swell movie, if I might say so myself, and thankfully most of the internet seems to agree as there is a stupendous amount of fic and art out there right now already. I actually haven't personally decided what I think "my version" of the ending is, am happily trying on other people's theories for size and hah, it kind of really depends on what mood you're in the most I think. At first I was happy to believe the end/Cobb's "absolution" to have all been a dream, see the spinning totem and all that. But! The totem has always been Mal's first and foremost, and many people have raised the valid point that it has often been a better tell to watch for Cobb's marriage ring, which has never been still on his hand in RL and also isn't in that last scene. I DON'T KNOWWWW. But I do know that I do like the theories about how it could've all just been a plan of Miles (Michael Caine) to perform Inception on Cobb himself to get over his grief about Mal. Oh Cobb and Mal. Fannishwise, I am so much for all the dirtyhotawesome Arthur/Eames (/Ariadne) in the world, or Saito/EVERYBODY EVER, but I was so affected by Mal and Cobb's story in the movie. Their scenes in Limbo, on the railroad track? Basically the part where I had to keep myself from starting to bawl in front of D&I. And the part with Fischer and "his dad" because ahahaha, owww. CILLIAN MURPHY'S FAAAAAAAAAAACE. I nearly could not deal!
ANYWAYS! Here is a quick and dirty selection of things I gleaned off other people's rec lists, so happy reading (if you haven't already devoured all of these). Mostly Arthur/Eames, with a smattering of the others.
The Eames and Arthur Supervisory Hour byhackthis ...in my eyes, hackthis can do no wrong and this is just another example of excellent witty banter and all around awesome. There is wooing! Cranky Arthur! And Saito being excellent. Seriously, he is my utter favorite here.
