kaiserkuchenThanks to what I figure is the swirling morass of germs I call my office, I ended up sick for most of the weekend. Delightful hacking cough, headache and wooziness, the works. I actually went to bed at 10.30PM on Saturday and woke up at 8AM the next morning, which is just all kinds of disturbing. Felt well enough on Sunday for a movie with the ladies, but couldn't be arsed to go to work today so I figured I'd call sick for once. First time in nearly 4 months of working here, so even if they suspect this is less than honest, I doubt I'd get any flack for it. Though have totally learned something of vital importance for next time. DEAR SELF, REMEMBER TO CALL IN SICK THE DAY OF WORK, NOT SUNDAY NOON BECAUSE FOR SOME REASON YOU THINK "GIVING ADVANCE NOTICE" IS SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD. Took Ma, D. and I. going "how stupid are you??" for this to finally sink in, but ah well.
Have spent this day reading far too much fic and actually more than half-heartedly cleaned my apartment! Still doesn't change the fact that I really don't like it here all that much any more. So glad it's just me in here and I will never have so show any one the premises XD.
SOME TV THOUGHTS/SQUEE/RAMBLING NOW.
Community S2x05
-What sticks out the most for me this episode was how much I became transfixed by Abed in that longer-haired wig. It was hard concentrating on anything else happening, to be quite honest! -One of the character pairings I especially adore in Community, at least since the Modern Dance one is whenever Britta and Troy get to do things together. MOAAR PLEASE. ALSO: JESUSTROY'S RAP. "Dogs love cats there. Cats love mice. The mice have hats and they look nice"! <3333 (And so sweet that they finished the vid for Shirley in the end)
-The fact that the Leonard and his hardcore gang of oldies are called the HIPSTERS will also never stop being amazing. BAG OF FLASKS! SLOW-MO CAR CRASH!I hope Community returns to their shenanigans too, it is always great to see the other groups and constellations besides the study group (STARBURNS AND HIS POSSE) and even better that apparently everyone thinks the study group are assholes XD
-The Jeff-Dad and Britta-Mom thing was so predictable, but I don't care and loved it regardless. PETULANT TEENAGER!PIERCE~~
-"EVERY MOMENT OF OUR LIVES IS A WORLD PREMIERE."

I keep forgetting to consistently post about my thoughts on this season so far, although to be quite frank I am very happy with my current plan of just watching, picking what I like and vigorously ignoring and/or fanwanking the rest away. IN MY HEART, THE WINCHESTERS WILL ALWAYS LOVE EACH OTHER, AND ALSO ARE SOULMATES IN HEAVEN!!, so I can have this fact burning securely away in my heart as I watch this current dark and somewhat strange and depressing season. EVERYONE IS JUST SO DAMN SHADY, JEEZ (CAMPBELLS, I AM LOOKING AT YOU). And just what IS up with Sammy dearest! I am hoping for some soul-related mishap or at least Lucifer still lurking around thereabouts (though part of me doubts the latter) and may Show not be a giant let-down in this regard. JARED MAKES DARK!SAM LOOK SO HOT THOUGH and we all know how well Dean does wounded! and betrayed! looks.
Before I get to this ep, I might as well also say that I really enjoyed the Bobby episode (DELICIOUS BACKSTORY AND BOBBY TIME AND LAUGH OUT LOUD LULZ) and a hat tip to Jensen for that directing. Though all the awesome Bobby 'n Rufus 'n Lady Sheriff action** doesn't make up for the skeevyness I felt when the female crossroads demon and the Okami were ganked. Seriously, did Sam manage to find the only male crossroads guy back then? And also, welp I guess we've stopped worrying about the demon hosts now, good to get that memo!

BUT NOW. EP 5 AKA I'm sorry but I snerked at most of the Twilight jokes.
-Perhaps my recollection is blurry, but Fake!Edward seemed to have RPattz odd American-accent speaking-cadence down! "Robert" and "Kristen" as vamp and vic names, too, haaaah!
-DEAN KNOWS WHO TAYLOR LAUTNER IS and "How many t's are in Pattinson" will probably make me laugh for a while yet. Making the computer do those shrieking noises would really get on my nerves though!
-The boys also weren't even dressed in suits to pop by the vic's house! Nice to see them continuing to bring flannel in places where it really doesn't fit.
-SAM THAT WAS A HUGE KNIFE. How I went ARGLEBARGLE dskjfhkjshdf WHATTTTTT (my precise notes were "DUDE DID THAT ON FUCKING PURPOSE!!" in an excited and progressively more messy scrawl) when he let the vamp turn Dean though. THAT SMIRK! And how Dean looked with that blood smeared all over him. Ngggh.
-Heightened senses, hello!
-So does Dean suddenly doing the whole standing creepily over his ~lady love as she sleeps now too mean that it's an ingrained vampire thing?? LOL. ALSO, HOW HARD WOULD IT HAVE BEEN TO SAY THAT HE IS FUCKED UP WITH VAMP BLOOD AND NOT JUST BE CREEPY AND WORRYING FOR A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER REASONS TO LISA AND BEN?? Dean, you have words, use them!!
-Knowing that this is fricken ep. 5 also means that there was no real danger of Dean dying, EVER. THIS WOULD BE DIFFERENT IN SAY, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES THOUGH. Just saying!
-That vampire fistbump was kind of cute.
-CREEPY VISIONS SAY WHAAT.
-The way Dean slaughtered his way through that entire nest was again, disturbingly hot. Which is a description often suited to Dean Winchester and vampires.
-CURE TIME. My my my, isn't that practical! But ooooh now Dean knows about Sam. Oh boy oh boy, this'll be good.
The Vampire Diaries S2x06
I will never love TVD as much and as passionately as I do Supernatural, but it really has to be said that sometimes TVD feels like it has its shit more together. Especially since S2 has kicked off. There is a large cast and things keep hurtling forward at a dizzying speed! The female characters are amazing, nuanced and kickass! The brothers are also overly close and basically immortal life-partners and so prickly at times, but always with a strong core of love in the center of it all! Ahh. Good times.
-Nina Dobrev must've had an amazing time shooting this episode. MEATY DRAMATIC BITS! ACTION! But also: making out with Paul and whatever Mason's actor's name is! UNF.
-Speaking of UNF, little bro Jeremy is getting beefier in every episode. What uppp, younger Gilbert! Am somewhat shamefully shipping him with Tyler now. Thankfully I am always watching this alone so no one knows my secret shame of whispering "kiss kiss kisssss" whenever they are onscreen together.
-Damon's faces continue to amuse. That disgusted one when he found out about Katherine and Mason! ICK WEREWOLVES lolol
-BRO SHOULDER-SMACK OF LOVE. Oh touchy-feely Salvatores, never stop!
-I hope that Bonnie will eventually fully come to accept Caroline as she now is, though man she is haaaaaaardcore. Tiny, tiny aneurysms! Every time Damon pisses her off! Daaaaamn. I feel that as viewers it is too easy to be pro-Salvatore because they are the main characters and hella interesting, but coming from Bonnie's POV? Of course she won't be getting over her issues with them any time soon. HER GRANDMOTHER DIED FOR THEM.
-MASON-NAPPING IN BROAD DAYLIGHT, hah!
-...Mason must be secretly melodramatic, because a well filled with vervain AND THEN SNAKES?? That is B-Movie horror villain evil trap-setting right there.

-GIANT SADFACES FOR CAROLINE'S TALK WITH HER MOM. WHY IS SHE SO AMAZING AUGHHH MY HEART IS BREAKING.

Sometimes with the early episodes of Dexter I feel impatient that we have to wait for all the parts to be set in motion before things can really start to get wild later on. IMPATIENCE, I CAN HAS IT.
-Masuka's tattoo was hilari-mazing though! Holy shit what.
-The whole LaGuerta and Batista thing juuuust ain't gonna end well, though I'm glad what the IA dude said in the last episode was just to get her to help with the sting and not give him hush-hush blowjobs on the down-low :|
-Dexter's disgusted "Quinn??"-face to Deb was great. Quinn is just so damn orange and weirdly scrawny now and that is not even going into his strange, strange personality.
-THE SCENE WITH THE BODIES AND THE MAGGOTS WAS JUST UNNECESSARILY DISGUSTING. UGH UGH UGHHHHHHHH.
...and heyyy, that was more blather than I thought I had in me. Huh.
