........for I have bought myself a pair of Crocs. They are the semi-legit looking black ballerina ones, though the shame I felt standing in front of the display was palpable anyways. The fact of the matter is that I simply need (plastic) shoes that can be soaked to hell and back, what with the near daily TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS occuring here. My el cheapo cloth-covered sandals had reached hobo-like status and I was actually gunning for a nice pair of chic Havianas before the limited selection in Chiang Mai cock-blocked me. Then I heard Ma's voice pleading with me to get some closed-toe shoes like a normal person... and well. They actually looked nice! And were in my size! So I figured, screw the price, it should be ~comfortable at least right?


HA HA HA NO.

I had barely worn them for an hour and now have 9 different stop-sign red blisters scattered all over my toes and heels. Add this to the horrible state of my face and so much for me trying to look chic for my imminent weekend in Bangkok (HAVE I MENTIONED THAT I WILL BE IN BANGKOK FROM SATURDAY TIL MONDAY YET FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH). I hope my 3kgs weight-loss since May so far will be noticable enough to distract everyone lol.

Good thing I bought another cheap pair of plastic/soakable flip-flops for back-up purposes!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DON'T GO FOR CROC'S TRAP OF BEING "COMFORTABLE" AND ALL - IN AUSTRIA THEY ARE ILLEGAL TO WEAR INSIDE HOSPITALS (though I don't really know why). NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

OH RIGHT dude wasn't there this thing about static electricity or something about having no traction with the crocs in the hospital or something?? And yeah, I am feeling v. dissappointed with myself. Always brushed them off as "ugly but potentially comfortable?? wtf so many people are buying them, they can't be wrong!" ....WELL APPARENTLY THEY ARE ALL WRONG :<

I will probably end up just doing things with my Dad lolol a social recluse is meeee. But have already subtlely dropped hints about wanting a steak dinner, so if I get just that I will count this entire trip as a win.

PS duuuuuuuude same here man, and even when you're in a group you end up talking to a handful of people anyways. And to think I used to consider myself social lol I have regressedddddddd

I know right?? Still, just based on the amount of money I paid for them I will be stubborn and keep on trying to make them comfortable (when these blisters have healed). Perhaps I just need to step on them a lot to ...warp the plastic?? IDEK.

omg I had no idea what to expect from that subject line! but I have to admit you were right, without thinking about I couldn't help but judge you m(_ _)m
I wouldn't want to wear them if they're in pink! I was already a little umcomfortable when I wore similar shoes to do garden work at my grandparents...but my excuse is that they're not the same, since they don't have holes in the front, coz that way earth gets in right away while pulling weeds out of the carrot fields.

I'm seriously shocked at the number of blisters! this is a true sign that crocs are evil!

I consider this to be a true learning experience! I feel utterly vindicated that my previous mockery of Dad when he bought some origi-crocs can stand as such since buying these has not made my feet feel like they are walking on clouds.

I should be leaving work now anyways, will not even be taking my laptop to BKK ahhh

I admit, I totally sniggered at that :DDD And I actually had really comfortable plastic cheap-ass ballerinas before, so I thought that the comparatively pricey crocs would be EVEN BETTER. But ahahaha. Well, that showed me!

I AMMMMMMMMM and I even passed on gym today (WHOOPS) to pack and clean my appt. this morning instead. Have no real concrete plans yet, but I assume that delicious food is somewhere therein and thus I am already happy. I would love to see some of my friends, but ehh if it doesn't work out I will always be back in October, lol.
