Oh man oh man why is the TV broken?! I so wanted to watch the festivities! I mean the Royal Guard's Parade made me cry, the sight of it and the wonderful commentary was just so damn beautiful and touching and!! I love to listen to the King's birthday speeches aswell. Our monarch makes jokes and can convey significant messages at the same time! ♥ I feel like such a patriotic dork sometimes XD

woooord, dudette! It's even better if you listen to some of the stuff he says on the radio -> you hear this old, respectable voice ...then suddenly there's this really witty comment or reference that hits you out of the blue and ZOMG! there you are. XD
Though re:thai TV ...i could do withouit some of the more random brainless gameshows tho! What did/do you like to watch?

Ahhh, "Tii 10"! The show they play on Wednesday on channel 5 (2 for UBC) at 10:20pm is awesome too ("Ching Roi Ching Laan")! Or err, used to be quite awesome XD

♥! Part of what I like so much about the royal family here is that the "distance" is still there. Yes, you have the royal news where the avid viewer can inform themselves on the latest royal appearances and whatnot, but that's where it ends. Reading stuff in the tabloids about what assorted memebers of the european monarchy have scandalously done makes me feel vaguely uncomfortable and uneasy most of the time... /ramble -.-;;

I agree with that. I most certainly did NOT need to know Charles wanted to be a tampon... The Thai royal family strikes a good balance (well, this is an outsider's perspective) between accessibility and privacy.
