Braaaaaiiin ache over!
Feb. 24th, 2006 11:11 pmSoWo: Kombinatorik und Siebdruck fiinally finished! Hallefuckinglujaah~!
...Although I must say that it wasn't as bad as I expected. The first two days we made silk screen motives to print on T-shirts and bags, that was good fun, spes as Marco and I chose the genius technique that made us done, wham bam thank you m'am, whilst the others were redoing their's for the umpteenth time. Haah >:3. (My motifs were a flame squiggly(for the one criteria: Elements) and the Bleach chapter 55 cover for our second, freestyle choice)
The shit part was the cleaning of said silkscreens. Vast amounts of chlorid+water (=fizzlin' and sizzlin' cleaning rags if you ain't careful) and turpentine really fuck you up...*flashbacks* *shudders*
The other three days were spent at Sven's, devoting ourself to learning the mysterious ways of "Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnen"- probabilities? Wasn't so mentally traumatising and brain breaking as I figured it would be, still hate math, though I might even get more than 20% on the next test! Oh shite victoooly awaits? Even completed the first set of math homework since ...well, honestly A YEAR! Shock, horror I am une math slacker yays XD
Got to watch a bunch of movies too: (SPOILERS BEWAARE)
Serenity:
Okay, found this in Maeng Pong in Central Bangna while Sven, Chrissie and I were waiting for F w/ D&J to start, thought woohoo! oppurtunity to see this fabled Firefly movie version in actuality. 'Twas quite good, nice effects and all. Was a bit funnyweird to see Mal in liveaction- one the one side I know him as Sharon(hee!)'s husband on "Two Guys and a Girl" and kinda how he sounds like, but the Mal voice I get from CFUD is more different in my head, more slow, deep and drawly. Though this might just be my default sexy!dude voice buttons XD... He was a great character though, very rootable and I really hope to get my hands on some MBK copies of the series... Other cool charas? The whole fricken cast I guess, but Jayne was macho adorable and I adored River's graceful and deadly way of going batshit~
The cover could've been done better though, makes the film look all blah and bargain-bin sci-fi ish. And Wash and Simon weren't on the cover! ;__;
Fun with Dick and Jane:
One word? Forgettable. ...which is a shame actually, it looked like it'd be more fun. There were good bits though...that I can't remember due to said unremarkable nature of the movie, lolz.
BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN:
Watched this a week or so a go with dear Ging', we tried to get the V-day opening but alas, organisatory fuck-up. BUT! Onwards to the movie itself- Oh shiiiiiit I cried so much during the whole thing and it's tagline shouldv'e been added to "Love is a force of Nature...that STABS YOU IN THE HEART OVER AND OVER AND OVER". The film in itself had a very slow feel, yes, very "eben" which made the emotional climaxes and outbursts even more powerful.
Oh and how happy I was to get to watch this in full movie theater format. The utterly gorgeous cinematography! And I thought it gave the film this more epic feel, yanno? Instead of watching it from a tiny TV screen or so...
The actors! I have so much respect and admiration for the two guys for taking on these roles and making them just work, hah and it's fuckin proven now that not only is Heath Ledger still extremely hot, he is a majorly skilled actor and ahhh ♥.
The way he portrayed Ennis deserves all the fancy adjectives the critics piled upon him, imho, I was utterly transfixed for the duration of the movie. Ennis was such a ticking timebomb, all that aggression and emotions roiling under the surface that he never knew how to correctly express and when it came out generally always backfired on him or Alma or Jack. And you just wanted him to go off and be happy with Jack, but of course this wouldn't be, all they had was Brokeback...but not even that really, in the later half of the movie when they're both older and bitter (and in Ennis' case emotionally stunted times infinity).this was actually where my only quibble with the movie was: Jake was aged well, the ugly moustache and slight belly worked- but Heath? Wtf makeup department...which meant that there didn't really seem to be an age difference between him and Alma Jr.
Jake as Jack was great too, from the very beginning where he's to one to make the first overture to Ennis up to the meaty scenes- the 14-hour drive to Wyoming after he heard bout Ennis' divorce and what happened after(THIS IS WHEN JAKE'S PUPPY DOG EYES WERE SO EVIL SO EVIIIL *sob*), the niggling discontent in his marriage to Lureen, that Ennis can't/won't give him what he wants and needs, MEXICO and oh man oh man that last real confrontation at Brokeback with him and Ennis, 20 years later. Heart-breaking like I don't know what. And of course the ending, Jack's parents, the flashes Ennis had during his phone conversation with Lureen ...and the god damn soundtrack, I don't care if it's country music- need this ASAP.
(and of course the kiss scenes! *fans self* We were a bit suprised at the seemingly out of the blue!lubeless!tent sex tho >_<;;. But props for continuity that the next morning Jack was walking funny when he got out of the tent XD)
...and obviously one concludes due to this gushing ramblage that I obviously loved this movie ^^. Not one I'm going to watch again soon though, the stabbity heart wounds need healing ;_;KAT I DUN UNDERSTAND Y U NO LIKE IT? IT R SO AWESUM YANNO? D:
Ho shit this turned out to be a long entry. Huh, must go catch up on comments and the like now~
PS fav. quote from math boot camp aka sowo:
Teacher:" 9 minus 5 equals 4, Marco."
Marco:"WHAT NO WHY ...oh" <----- by far the actual class genius in math. Most of the time XD
Everyone else:"*LAUGH and point fingers at M*
