All about Lily Chou-Chou

kaiserkuchenIt is only now, after checking the website that I kind of 'get' this movie. And all because I changed the channel during the ONE moment that turned out to be pivotal after all ....>_<;;
Was pretty though, the scenery(oh the sheer green of the ricefields!) and the music of the movie...
The movie itself was odd to watch, it's tone was very subdued and the way it was shot(mostly via handheld digicam, with wobbliness added) had me squinting to make out what was being filmed and strain my ears to hear the dialogue. And I do admit one of the reasons I kept watching was that I wanted to see if the lead would say more than two words at a time.
And it ended up kind of somewhat crushing my heart, damn melancholy and quietly depressing films!
Also- it had mournful tradition japanese music playing at select moments, and between this, "Japanese Story"(OH SHIT I was bawling) and Samurai Champloo I am sure the reaction 'CRY LIEK BABY' is firmly imprinted now. Like when I hear "One-Winged Angel" = automatic GUH O___O reaction, followed by *pwnage a la Sephiroth*
