Ninjas STILL can't catch you if you're on fire

WHAT SUCKS: Having an allergic fit when you're all out of antihistamines. Since the last half hour,  I have been full of snot, my eyes are red, itching and burning like hell, my throat feels congested and I have to sneeze my lungs out every three seconds. DAMN YOU NERO AND YOUR OMNIPRESCENT DUSTY FUR. 

WHAT DOESN'T SUCK: Having awesome, awesome fic to read. And the thought of so many season premieres (SPN! DEXTER!) up soon, 99.8% of which I will not be able to actually watch, but I look forward to enthusiastically spoiling myself on the internets for them anyways :Db

(SPN) Revelations, by marinarusalka. Summary: AU. Veteran FBI agent Victor Henriksen isn't at all happy when a rookie ATF agent horns in on his investigation of a possible serial arsonist. Still, Agent Winchester's forensics expertise does come in useful. But as the clues and the bodies pile up, Victor begins to suspect that his new partner knows more than he's telling about the case. 
Such a fun, gen romp! Loved the Henriksen perspective, and the differences and similarities in this Dean Winchester :D

(SPN) Steam, by bellatemple. Summary: Dean was supposed to get a year, and then go to Hell. Instead, as far as he was concerned, he got most of a year, and then Hell came to him.
SPN STEAMPUNK AU! Very nicely written, the sense of mystery about Sammy and the tension in the first few parts was superb. And Dean as a tinkering mechanical genius, what's not to love about that?? The graphics that go with the story were also ace.

(SPN) Captured by the Game, by rivkat. Summary: AU. Azazel has given his favorite son a task: worm his way into the confidence of a hunter. It sounds simple, but Dean Winchester just might be more than Sam can handle
SO. DAMN. GOOD. I mean, I loved her SV stuff loads too, back in the day and this was just fantastic. Seeing all the little differences this AU makes in canon storyline and the characters and akjhkfj I must admit, it features a confession scene that will probably be right up there in my most favorite love confessions/admissions of all time. *clutches hands to chest and SIGHS*

(IM) Accountable, by quigonejinn. Excerpt: Here is the point of departure: Tony does not wait until after he has had the press conference to ask Rhodey to help him.
Basically, everything quigonejinn and co. write about  Iron Man is fucking gold, and this recent fic is no different. AU, as seems to be the theme of this post, and utterly heartbreaking in a way that slowly creeps up to you when reading. THAT LAST LINE. I just. Ahjksdfh oh, Tony  *SOBS* ;___;

(HP) Quality of Mercy Chapter 30 (END), by mistful 
IT'S FINALLY COMPLETED!! Holy shit, yesss. And what an end that I see is already causing some kerfluffle on the HP fen side of things? I dunno, but I really liked it nonetheless, maybe even for the reasons that some people are raising such a fuss about. Basically, KAT GO READ IT AND COME TALK TO ME ABOUT EET.

IN CONCLUSION: Heyyy, my allergy fit seems to have died down in the half hour it now took me to write this entry. SCORE *sniffles*

I AM NOW FILLED WITH SO MUCH LOVE FOR CHIANG MAI'S CENTRAL AIRPORT PLAZA BOOKSTORE. Just when I thought I'd pop in to get a Corel Painter X manual or some such AND THEN my eyes feasted on the HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS BOOKS DISPLAYED ON THE COUNTER. 1250 baht for the adult edition BURNED, oh yes it did, precious, but I had to have it. Had a glorious delicious Korean BBQ lunch with Ma afterwards, where she had to forcibly take the book away from me lest I start reading then and there and we couldn't have gotten home fast enough. Started reading at around 3 and finished shortly before 11, with various food pauses and chores and CATCHING THE CAT who is trying to escape included.



MORE THOUGHTS TOMORROW, I have to get up at 5.30AM for merit-making with Ma so I am heading for the sack now. ...after reading some reaction posts from other people now firssst aaaah am so HAPPY I didn't spoiler myself all too much for this book!

Have just finished watching the copy of the Naruto movie I miraculously managed to procure somehow at the MBK DVD shop. Oh the randomly subtitled joy!! I love the manga to bits and pieces and more, but there's something to be had when there are moving ninjas acting all ninja-cool and all.

The Konoha Sports Day short, was uh, amusing enough. I could so picture my four and seven year old cousins enjoying Naruto's quest to find an unoccupied toilet to attend to his ...needs. (apparently Ma showed it to them when she had to nephew-sit and was all astounded that they knew Naruto. Well, this serves to prove the theory of Universal Ninja Appeal! Mwahaha)

The Naruto world's mix of technology is fun. Loved the opening bit with Team 7 watching the movie upside down from the ceiling! Yuki-hime and the plot were okay, blah, whatever... am here to watch the ninjas in action. The Snow ninjas had extremely ugly uniforms, altho their earflap thingies were cool. I shall get one too, one day when I'm somewhere wintery. Would Vienna count?

Naruto was love. From start to finish. How he eventually badgered Yuki-hime to get a grip and step up for her country! And the chases in the beginning, hee :D

The extremly WTF?subtitles also added much to the fun of watching the movie, as they were directly transcribed from the chinese ones. "Watch out, Purple Mingren!" (=Naruto) "Oh, it's Mr. Quoacui Kakaci!" etc etc. The Jutsus sounded engrishly funky though.
(and yay for the extras! Naruto's and Kakashi's Seiyuus chattering excitedly about something! Understood about every 15th word, but was entertaining to watch)

Look forward towards hitting the shop again w/ Patty on Thursday. Dunno what to get yet though...Wolf's Rain? Maybe Kyou Kara Myou? Or see if they have the rest of the Samurai Champloo episodes, "ends at ep 17" my ass! >:(

Also, watched a lot of Cartoon Network today. Teen Titans is growing on me, dammit! I miss Kim Possible and SpongBob Squarepants in german. Woe.

PS: More fic recs! The new HP book seems to have reawakened my urge for fic.

Ye Gods, she's done it again! Harry and Draco after HBP. "Malfoy was weird." What to do when your rival/that irritating bastard git from Slytherin has the locket with the Horcrux you so desperatly need. Or so. There is no summary yet and I suck at giving one. Still am so totally sucked in to this and really wanna sees how the plot unfolds...

Another good H/D (this one's finished too!) is Transformation by Amalin. Still have to review it but the smart words are failing me now. Booyah.
