kaiserkuchen: (STrek! I MAKE GOOD LIFE CHOICES)

Even though time continues to hurtle by at quite alarming an alarming speed, I am at least happy that things seem to be looking up now. Because I remain far too fond of this easy format, again I present a list of HAPPY:

__ I PASSED ABWL!!. Just about made it with a four (Carmen kicked my ass with a 3, but woo we are both through!), and hoooooooo fuck am I ever so relieved! This means that I can hand in my Freie Wahlfächer form early Jan, hope it gets approved in the three weeks it takes to process, and theeeen once my final last two seminar grades are in the system by what will hopefully be early Feb, submit my Bachelor's Degree application form thingamajiggers so that I can finally fucking GRADUATE already after the additional three weeks it will take for that to hopefully go through the system. Graduating university seemed so much more easier and full of pomp and ceremony in the American movies, lol. I guess it's still just true that no one here gives a flying fuck about Bachelor's Degrees, though I am not about to start my Masters just because part of me does kind of want a nice ceremony

__ [livejournal.com profile] jorajo!! I GOT YOUR CARD YESTERDAAAAY ♥!! Thank you so much Rhonda, I loved the adorable penguins~~~ Your signature is so loopy and cute, ahhh I AM ALL FULL OF FUZZY PENGUIN FEELINGS NOW. And ironically, I am still sitting on my large pile of mail for EVERYBODY EVERYWHERE, lol whoops?? EXPECT THEM TO BE SENT OFF MONDAY/TUESDAY OR SO. I hope. At least I can guarantee that it will be extra awesome mail? (Especially [livejournal.com profile] laulan, I am already curious how much the shipping will kill me, but PREPARE TO GET YOUR MIND BLOWN with this Chrismabirthday package ;DD)

__ I have been watching The Vampire Diaries with Carmen now, and holy fuck did I ever not expect it to be this darn entertaining and actually addictive. I am quite engrossed by the going-ons, and actually charmed by Paul Wessley's GIANT HOT BRICK FACE, though it did take me a while to stop thinking of him as Lex Luthor's younger brother Lucas. (Oh Smallville, how your good hoyay-tastic days will always be missed!) Ian Somerhalder's turn as the ~evil Salvatore brother Damon is deliciously entertaining as everyone has been saying and as I am about to start episode 7 right now, I really look forward to now having another series to fangirl when it starts up again in January. WHO ELSE ON MY FLIST IS BY CHANCE WATCHING THIS GUILTY PLEASURE DELIGHT?? Come out of the woodworks, I know I can't be the only oneeeeee :DD ALSO: The OST music they have for this show is very catchy and legit enjoyable. *grooves*

__ Watching The Princess and The Frog or "Kiss the Frog", as it is inexplicably called in the Austrian version on Thursday. If they don't directly translate the title into German, what is the point of giving it another English name? Were they afraid that the original title wasn't clear enough? It is doubly weird given that all the German trailers from Germany at least call it "Küss den Frosch". Lol. But! I was a bit wary at first at how the subject matter would be handled, but the few reviews I read were positive and when we watched it ourselves, the movie itself was simply a glorious 2D delight. Carmen, her sister Ines and I were basically sitting there with our eyes wide and clutching our hands in joy. The German dub was even good (Tiana's dub actor had a wonderful singing voice, and Naveen was Roger Cicero!) and I will probably be buying the DVD when it comes out. Classic but still fresh, and Tiana is probably now my favorite Disney Princess. So driven and kickass, but still warm and loving. Charlotte also stole the show for me, and Prince Naveen! Ahhh ♥ All the supporting characters were equally brilliant (RAAAAAAAAY), and the animation in Dr. Facilier's song was fantastically creepy.

The Year in Review!
2009: Your Love Life
Did you break up with anyone?: Nope!
Did you meet anyone special?: ...not really? I assume gorgeous eyecandy doesn't really count?
Did you fall in love?: Nnnnope!

2009: Friends and Enemies
Did you meet any new friends this year?: In both my ~online and ~offline lives, which is extra added awesome.
Did you dislike anyone?: Hell yeah.
Did you make any new enemies?: I assume that I annoyed some people? But wouldn't think that people consider me an enemy, wut.
Did you resolve any fights?: ...Not really? I discussed things through with people sometimes, but was never really involved, iirc.
Did you grow apart from anyone?: Sadly yes.
Do you have any regrets when it comes to your friendships?: For some: that they stagnated, that I can see us drifting apart in the next few years if things don't change and that I don't really know what I can do about it. Some that I know I have also dropped the ball on. But in general? Nope! This has been a surprisingly lovely year for friends, both new and old.

2009: Your BIRTHDAY!
Did you have a cake?: Never since I moved to Vienna. I MISS MY TRADITIONAL AMARI BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE (that I would normally nom all by myself ahhh giant cake all for meeee)
What did you do for your birthday?: Went for a delicious Greek dinner at the Orpheus with Dad, Sue, Ae and Carmen (my not!daaate lol) and had the type of decadent feast that occurs when your parents foot the bill.
Did you have a party?: Nope. Previous attempts at having one, or at least GOING TO A CLUB with a group of people spectacularly failed the previous years and I will never try again for a while at least.
Did you get any presents?: Hmmm. A nice sum of cash that went into Carmen and I's Travel Fund of Awesome, another sum of cash that I actually forgot Dad promised me (...I had to check my entry, so sue me, I have a shit memory) and 1000 Places To See Before You Die +assorted cute goodies from Carmen. Plus mail packages of win from my Spamthread Ladies! THAT BIRTHDAY FIC THAT LAL DEAREST WROTE ME ♥ *still preens about it*
If so what was the best thing you got?: They were all such terrific presents that appealed to different core desires of me so I WON'T DECIDE and no one can make me! Hah!

2009: All about YOU
Did you change at all this year?: I hope I've made at least some progress in becoming a Better Person. I guess I've proven to myself that I can deal with stress/additional responsibility? Or at least to a greater extent that I previously expected of myself.
Did you dye your hair?: NEVERRRR. Though I should get back to getting my hair treated with masks more often. My best physical characteristic needs to be taken care of mooooar.
Did you get your hair cut?: Does randomly playing around with the length of my fringe count? Have decided for a longer, side-swept look for the winter, but come February or Jan, it's gonna get short again.
Did you change your style?: I like to think that I ~refined~ it, and made some decisions and investments in some pieces that I will like to try and build upon next year. Read: MORE DRESSES, more classy/office wearable and feminine things and less reliance on t-shirts and jeans.
Were you in school?: The University of Vienna still had me coming back for more, oh yeah.
Did you get good grades?: ...not enough to actually save my GPA from the horrors I wrought upon it in 07-08, but seen separately? I was proud of the 1er on both of my big BAKK theses, the 1er and 2er on all of my UE and AT seminars, but I continued to crash and burn at the big exams and get just 4er and 3er, barring a few exceptions. So all in all- AVERAGE? A very good average? I don't know :|
Did you have a job?: Nope. Never got around to getting one, in the end. Throughout my entire three years so far at uni. Oops.
Did you drive?: Still don't have my license. Double oops.
Did you own a car?: Nuh-uh.
Did you move at all?: No.
Did you go on any vacations?: Went home to Bangkok/Chiang Mai in FEB, met up with La and Angie in Münich in MAR, visited Carmen and met her parents in North Germany in APR, rocked out Rome with Carmen in MAY, went home again from JUL til the end of SEP, checked out Copenhagen with Carmen early this DEC and I'll be in Salzburg soon. ......wow, typing all this out in retrospect is pretty awesome. Got around a lot this year! I mean, I can't really count going home, but still. I LOVE TRAVELING ♥
Would you change anything about yourself now?: The usual things: Be less lazy, less passive, be more proactive etc etc. But all of this can wait for now, I guess. I still am pretty happy with who I am.

2009: Wrap Up
Was 2009 a good year?: FO' SURE
Do you think 2010 will top 2009?: I hope it will be awesome in an entirely different way, just from the fact that a ~~NEW CHAPTER~~ in my life will be starting. OPERATION: ADULTHOOD, the Really Truly We Are Shitting You Not, Now Get A Goddamn Job And Start Paying Taxes And Stuff Edition
If you could relive any moment which would you choose?: I seriously hate deciding these things. I DON'T KNOOOOOW.

Oh and THIS was pretty cool. A "gibberish rock song written by an Italian composer to sound like English". Interesting things about how language sounds to be heard here, and I for one really did think at times that it sounded understandable at times, but more in the nonsensical words in the trippiest lyrics ever way. A link for the language nerd in all of us!

PS OH WOW THIS ENTRY IS LIKE A GIANT WALL OF TEXT. But it felt good to type. So yeah. Feel free to TL;DR or something XDD
