And her name was Linda. And not inasmuch a cat lady in terms of social recluse type old lady that shuts herself in her tiny apartment with a swarm of catses, but Lady who has cats and is really quite incredibly awesome. First off, to fulfill the cat criteria-- apparently (as per Ma's telling, as the two know each other from some C'mai brunch whatever) Linda is a successful Oriental Longhair cat breeder, and is very jet-set with traveling to and fro SE Asia and god knows where else to compete in various shows with some of her TEN cats. Apparently she even hit the world rankings at one point? Yet that is not enough, it seems, as she does Pilates on the side and is about to start an instructors course so she can teach, dances and teaches Salsa and used to make and source her own jewelery (gemology course absolver). Plus the fact that she holds a PhD. in Marine Biology and used to lecture on Forensic Sciences in med school when she used to live in the states aaand apparently freelances a bit for the Chiang Mai uni here, too.

...I admit, I was goggling quiiiite a bit after I heard this for the first time. Talk about an accomplished life so far! And whilst we all had lunch together she was great fun to talk to, not snobby or anything at all and we got to see her GIGANTIC HOUSE afterwards and all her kitties! Man, that house and the gardens are so big she actually has a whole 'nother seperate guest house that she converted into a dance floor. And GEESE in the gardens. To add more BZWUH factor, the house she lives in and rents now used to belong to Chavalit's wife (our good ol' ex vice-minister! Man those were the nineties I guess?)! Prime real estate lolll

SO IN CONCLUSION I WANT TO BE COOL LIKE HER WHEN I'M THAT OLD (...which isn't really old, she can't be more than her late 50s??)

Also had to go to our excursion thingamajigger for STEP6 tut and luckily it was like ten minutes walk from my dorm. Radio 88.6 behind the scenes... interesting enough, but jeeeesus 2 hours later I was just hungry and tired and cranky XDD. Went back home w/ Clemens and we made some IKEA moooose pasta with vodka tomato cream sauce, which was muy tasty and watched 'Lucky Number Slevin'. Okay movie, though I still can't really see how Clemens and Karim love it so XDD Josh Hartnett looked great in it though, eye caaaandy

...The step1 retest went actually quite surprisingly well. I knew most of everything and the questions were doable, in a major way. IS THIS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE QUESTIONS ARE CLEARLY FORMULATED? No more 'explain the internet lol' here, thank goddd... And even with my most pessimistic estimation I still have about half the points, so yeahhh 98% chance of passing woo! And yet there were still people who fled after the first ten minutes, or people like my left neighbour who started to freak out like 2 minutes before the timer started, all 'Can I still leave now?? Huh? Please??'...

The entire day today was quite lovely, too ...at least weatherwise. The sun was out and all that, the first blossoms were blooming again, heck spring really does seem to have finally arrived! Walked from uni after the retest with Anja and Judith all the way to the Vapiano and had some italian deliciousness to reward our hard brainworkings~~

And today is also Sohoho karaoke later, the probably last one me and Carmen can go to, as next week Soz. Pysch starts again and ahahahaaa I have to be up by six thirty again noooo...

THE OVERCOME OBSTACLES TO BE TOGETHER. ADORABLE ♥ ♥ ♥. AND YOU WILL SO CRY. But in a good, life-affirming way! and nooo I did not just transcribe the dialogue in the blizzard scene noooo of couuurse not ahehehehHEH well.
And the animation is just plain lovely. Mei's voice actor is SO CUUUUTE too~ Such a wonderful voice!

Well, by now my initial euphoria has kinda faded away to a more manageable buzz of happy, I figure I'd post quickly before wrapping up a few things and going to bed. Speaking of which: KAT YOU BRAINMELDED ME OR SOMETHING why have I found myself sleeping at what you described as your hours? I thought I had a good thing with 3AM going waaagh *snif*-- ;D

OH WAIT that was because I spent most of last night/early morning reading THIS FIC: "Finding Himself". 800 fucking pages of beautiful, brilliant writing. AU-- a la "what if Cedric survived the events of Book 4?". He's not unscathed, not by far... but more would be spoilering ;D
And saying that this will SUCK YOU IN LIKE NO TOMORROW is not an exaggeration(SET ASIDE AT LEAST A DAY TO READ I say), and it actually fleshes the Hufflepuff House and characters and Cedric out and heck, they are interesting. The actual plot of this novel-length romp is gripping and it reads like the HP books, but with more interesting and elevated bits added in(the details about the magic!) and aah, the Cedric and Hermione pairing is fun to read and plausible, especially how they come together at first, deal with each other ...the ups and downs and the characters actual faults are also handled and akjlfjg. I am all a-flutter ♥ (the chapters also feature some quite cute manips of some movie stills and shots of the actors. It actually adds a lovely touch)
SO: RUN, DON'T WALK TO READ THIS I SAY. A+++++++ EXCELLENT
and I totally left a rambly review for the author haaah since I did spend at least about 10 hours reading that aaaah sogood ♥ ♥

And if that was the fandom yay, the other happiness factors came from the meet-up at the Cafe Central today and my later conversation with Ma. Eating those desserts and chatting with Carmen, Karim and Karim's friend Anna was just plain FUN. It was just laid back and the conversation flowed groovy-ly and at times we all were discussing a topic or Carmen and Anna were talking while Karim and I debated the finer points of "Dawn of the Dead" and "Land of the Dead" and later drew continents on table napkins and just-- ahh. I like this, just talking with people I get along with ...and the fact that I can later go home to my cozy dorm room and just chill. Sure, I have to do my own cooking, dishes and laundry, but in contrast to when I was in Krimml (all pros of that aside) I actually prefer this if it means that I get to decide when to wake up, or what to do, all at my own pace instead. Like, do I want to stay awake reading fic until the sun actually starts to rise? Sure, if I can deal with how much like crap I will feel the next day etc etc ...Who knew that the simplest freedoms could be the sweetest?

Just talking to Ma today was also just lovely. Planning for the trip to Bangkok, just venting about relatives or simply talking. Life is so good for her right now, and by proxy for me too and I am just so happy and grateful for her that it's all working out so wonderfully. Ahh ♥

(And I am also firmly resolved to start thinking about uni sometime tomorrow. But now? I bask :D)

But I still managed to drag myself to Soz.Psych this morning at 8(not like Fabian, who totally sucks at excuses: like 'I have sleeping patterns that are, ähm, difficult to overcome and ähm...' DUDE you overslept, just admit to it, we weren't gonna lynch ya for it XDD) and there was a test the prof wanted all of us to take about our social self-perception and what-not, and it concluded that judging by our results I was one of about 10 from 100+ students in lecture hall that were 'overly egocentric' and Carmen has strong social anxieties. LOL! (I mean, with questions like 'Do you look in mirrors often?' ...um, let's just say ALL reflective surfaces alright? *preens*)
Good fun though!

...and now that I'm thinking back I also basically spent the whole day with Carmen and Anja, as we went to have a late brekkie at Anja's place (where Carmen and I managed to get into the wrong U-Bahn AND S-Bahn A+++ team us!) and just hung around there and town before THE UTTER THRILLING EXCITEMENT(*gag*) that is PAED. Man, am so happy I'm not taking the exam for it next semester! Am just sitting in the lecture and like, pre-warming my brain for it next next year or something~
Got some library research done too, to appease my inner nerd. Ahh. Now I only have to get my ass over to the WU- library in goddamn FLORIDSDORF(...it's over the DONAU. I mean, am over the canal myself, but THE RIVER is a wholly different matter!) to get the majority of said reading material. On friday morning. That I most likely will not touch at all during the weekend.
