kaiserkuchen: (TBBT! It all started with the)
The last few days have been spent doing basically the same things over and over, except in slightly different combinations and constellations.

Example the first: Watching MOVIES:
If I switched Thursday evening with Friday, I have basically been watching a movie a day since then until Monday :D. Even so, I gotta say that I am Not Pleased at how the ticket prices seem to have shot up in BKK since I was here last year. UNCOOL.
Spoilery thoughts on: Hurt Locker, Alice in Wonderland 3D, Up in the Air and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus )

Example the second: Hang out with awesome people:
These last few days doing assorted things with Ginger and co have again reaffirmed how important food is to Thai culture and being social in general and how I whole-heartedly adore this. I clearly am weak in my food-fu from all the time spent in Europe though, must work on this when I come back.

Example the third: Obsessively rewatch male figure-skating vids:
And by male figure-skating I mostly mean mainlining the ~oeuvre of one Stephane Lambiel. I MEAN JEEBUS CHRIST THIS GUY IS UNREAL. About as unreal and magical as a magical zebra in the winter with wings. The outfit will never stop making me lol, but his World Championship-winning performance here is so amazing.

AND SPEAKING OF AMAZING, THIS POST just about killed my browser, and my brain because holy HQ pics of sexyness, Batman!. BRB SWOONING FOREVERRRRRRRRR ♥ <-- Lal, this is totally the post I was talking about *_*b
kaiserkuchen: (STrek! I MAKE GOOD LIFE CHOICES)
Time should just continue to exist in a molasses slow or limbo-like state until I manage to get all the shit I need to be done completed, okay?? Went to bed waaaay later than I was supposed to, but the fantastic skyping I had with Miss C and Andy was way more than worth it ♥ And of course the funtimes watching German TV shows of dubious quality with Miss Olga and nomming on her food that occurred beforehand.

I still need to see this again to bask in the glory of RDJ's brit accent )

Oh, and before I forget- here are some great links:
__ The Uniform Project. 365 days, 1 dress. The sheer creativity and style in each picture so far is stunning, and there are a lot of nifty touches and ideas that you can adapt to wear yourself... AND it's a project for a good cause, which is just added awesome. I'd recommend checking it out in monthly view, for extra added impact.
__ If there ever is a movie where these three play brothers, the universe will implode from the hotness ...I mean, I think RDJ is the "weakest link" if compared to the freaky way that JDM and Javier Bardem look alike, but I could and would totally buy the idea that they could play blood-relations.
__ Jon Hamm's John Ham I have always wanted to see this fabled clip from the first time that Jon Hamm hosted SNL, and now I have finally found a version that isn't on hulu or some other vid platform that hates me. HA-HA :Db And I just love Jon Hamm so damn much, okayyyy ♥

LASTLY: CHECK OUT THIS EPIC KRIS ALLEN PICSPAM by [livejournal.com profile] pettyscenes. HOLY SHIT, THIS IS A WORK OF ART *swooons*, with A+ commentary.
kaiserkuchen: (Dexter! Angels & Demons)
Started to do so since yesterday, and managed to suddenly wind up in front of the computer at 3AM again. DAMMIT, SELF!! Simon Amstell is probably my favorite host though, he is so hilarious and snarky ♥ Cracked up so much at the episode with Kelly Rowland who kept looking at turns vaguely confused and disturbed by the shenanigans going on XDD.

Because thinking up smooth transitions from paragraph to paragraph is too much of a fucking hassle atm, a random list of things I have been up to:

- Watched Gamer with Carmen on Friday, starring Gerard Butler and Michael C. Hall amongst others and it was quite possibly one of the most stupid and insulting movies I have ever seen in a good long while. I mean, though the topic is interesting and merits discussion, I had no real expectations of ~depth~ from a movie that is basically about REAL VIDEO GAMES!!1 in the future and nanobots and death-row prisoners fighting to win the game and gain freedom but OH WAIT they are controlled by players!1 and the head of the game tech developing company is EVIL!1, but the cliches the movie traded in were extensive and dated, the way women and people who weren't fit white men were treated was disgusting and demeaning and quite frankly, the action wasn't all that great. It was quite clear that the makers specifically tailored everything in the movie to their core audience of 16-twentysomething year old dudes, and it was evident in things like the titsapalooza in every possible scene, the groupies who vidchat the Gerard Butler Character's gamer calling themselves Cumdumpstaaz (....seriously), fake!lesbians galore and various demeaning things happening to GBC's wife during her "job" as some virtual reality meatpuppet.
The only good thing about the movie was basically Michael C. Hall's unrepentantly hammy yet entertaining performance as the villain (with a southern accent, even >_>;), and I just basically kept imagining him in character as Dexter for the lulz, I do admit it. This scene in particular was perfection. His creepy dancing and lip-synching!

- Finally got around to cleaning up my yahoo!mail account, which was heading towards the big 10'000 of emails, so I uh, spent the afternoon trying and eventually succeeding in deleting 6'000 emails. Phew! All those FB and LJ notifications from ahem, 2006 and 2007, GOODBYE!

- Had delicious delights with Hazel and Carmen today at the Pure Living Bakery. Exceedingly charming place and lovely, home-made pastries. I had a "monster cinnamon roll" that was baked with apple slices in it, om nom nom ♥. Also discovered that Hazel has a crazy, crazy schedule and Carmen and I are basically hobos who complain about actually having to leave the house every now and again in comparison, lol.

- For the last few days, and basically since I came back from Salzburg, I have meant to post a bit about [livejournal.com profile] yuletart. Have probably spammed the same favorites I had over and over again to different people on skype, but never did I actually remember to mention it here. Well consider this the day I change this! My Yuletart pic this year was from Pushing Daisies and I received a lovely Steampunk!DDS picture of Serph from [livejournal.com profile] mashimero. Here is a small selection of personal favorites from this year's lot (go check out the rest!):
A)ZOMBIES AND VIOLENCE! Two tastes that go well together (Left 4 Dead/Team Fortress 2)
B)Gorgeous pencil sketches of Morgana and The Fall (Merlin, The Fall)
C)Utterly fantastic craft-y knitting idea (Merlin)
D)STUNNING genderswap of the main four (Merlin) ...idek why I liked the Merlin stuff so much this year XDDD
E)Bonafide story-tale beauty (Merlin) [livejournal.com profile] nebst, you got some mad skills, lady ♥
F)SO CUTE, SO FUNNY, SO PERFECT (Star Trek)

ALSO!! Check out these FIERCE LADY GAGA BARBIE DOLL MODS ...the little costumes! GLORIOUS.
kaiserkuchen: (SPN! Sometimes life just sucks (S))
BOOKS READ and MOVIES WATCHED IN 2009

Random and not sorted by month because that is just too much hassle )

In other news, I didn't manage to leave the house today and just tooled around the net forever (I made a giant sticky post for my art though, god that took ages!), but I did finally have a mad cleaning session. Everything is now nice and clean (to an extent), and there are fresh bathmats and dishtowels and sponges and I just about had to take pictures to commemorate this rare state of affairs lest Sabrina returns. I am either expecting her back today or tomorrow, and if she doesn't show I can at least be confident that she might be gone for a while (FINGERS CROSSED). Which makes that fact that she forgot THREE GIANT OPEN BAGS OF TRASH under the sink and the general state of everything in our common area even more reprehensible, but what else is new. fffuck did I summon her presence by mentioning her??
I did make the no less disgusting discovery that her preferred cigarette disposing method is to just throw the butts into old candle-holder glasses or mugs filled with water though. There were three hiding behind the piles of random mugs and dishes that I cleared off when I wiped down the kitchen, and wow does that ever have an ~~aroma. Why would you keep this crap? Does she find the stench of stale smoke and disgusting soup that results in the mugs appealing? I dumped the goop and tried to rinse it out a few times, but the ash has totally encrusted. Have liberally drizzled cleaning solution/Scheuermilch on everything though, and I don't even care that I dumped it all in a pot that she will probably use to cook in.

EDIT: FUCK FUCK FUCK she just came back. Ugh
kaiserkuchen: (STrek! I MAKE GOOD LIFE CHOICES)
Even though time continues to hurtle by at quite alarming an alarming speed, I am at least happy that things seem to be looking up now. Because I remain far too fond of this easy format, again I present a list of HAPPY:

__ I PASSED ABWL!!. Just about made it with a four (Carmen kicked my ass with a 3, but woo we are both through!), and hoooooooo fuck am I ever so relieved! This means that I can hand in my Freie Wahlfächer form early Jan, hope it gets approved in the three weeks it takes to process, and theeeen once my final last two seminar grades are in the system by what will hopefully be early Feb, submit my Bachelor's Degree application form thingamajiggers so that I can finally fucking GRADUATE already after the additional three weeks it will take for that to hopefully go through the system. Graduating university seemed so much more easier and full of pomp and ceremony in the American movies, lol. I guess it's still just true that no one here gives a flying fuck about Bachelor's Degrees, though I am not about to start my Masters just because part of me does kind of want a nice ceremony

__ [livejournal.com profile] jorajo!! I GOT YOUR CARD YESTERDAAAAY ♥!! Thank you so much Rhonda, I loved the adorable penguins~~~ Your signature is so loopy and cute, ahhh I AM ALL FULL OF FUZZY PENGUIN FEELINGS NOW. And ironically, I am still sitting on my large pile of mail for EVERYBODY EVERYWHERE, lol whoops?? EXPECT THEM TO BE SENT OFF MONDAY/TUESDAY OR SO. I hope. At least I can guarantee that it will be extra awesome mail? (Especially [livejournal.com profile] laulan, I am already curious how much the shipping will kill me, but PREPARE TO GET YOUR MIND BLOWN with this Chrismabirthday package ;DD)

More HAPPY within ♥ (Vampire Diaries, The Princess & The Frog )

ONE OF MANY TO COME END OF YEAR MEMES just for funsies )

Oh and THIS was pretty cool. A "gibberish rock song written by an Italian composer to sound like English". Interesting things about how language sounds to be heard here, and I for one really did think at times that it sounded understandable at times, but more in the nonsensical words in the trippiest lyrics ever way. A link for the language nerd in all of us!

PS OH WOW THIS ENTRY IS LIKE A GIANT WALL OF TEXT. But it felt good to type. So yeah. Feel free to TL;DR or something XDD
kaiserkuchen: (LOL! BRB CRYING FOREVER)
ON TUESDAY:
-Watched (500)Days of Summer with [livejournal.com profile] cheshire_tabby! It was wonderful and exceedingly charming and just a movie that was made with such care and love, though you really were in it just preemptively feeling sorry for JGL's character already. But if you were to get your heart broken to smithereens by someone, I guess Zooey Deschanel would be a worthy candidate. HER EYES ARE SO UNREAL AND GORGEOUS, HOLY CRAP. And JGL does "head over heels in glorious and all-encompassing love" so damn well, I actually felt a bit awkward and uncomfortable staring directly at his face sometimes. THIS GUYYYYY. The music was also a delight, and Olga I most def want to borrow the OST from you sometimes! PS. I STILL HAVEN'T DECIDED ON WHICH RINGTONE I WANNNNT :O

ON WEDNESDAY:
-Watched the first three episodes of season 9 of Scrubs. I must admit-- it ain't that bad! Nothing can measure up to Scrubs back in its heyday of awesome, but I actually like the new characters, though I still have difficulties remembering their names (Number one/Drew and Angry RA are my two favorites so far though)
-Distracted myself from everything ever (I AM RUNNING OUT OF FANFIC TO READ NOOOOOO)
-Received [livejournal.com profile] quirkytaverna's AWESOME, AWESOME Christmas card ♥ ♥! Thank you so much~~ It is simply adorable, I love the über-Australian X'mas on the beach motif :DD

-Was debilitated by the most overwhelming cramps I have ever experienced in my 21 years of life. Seriously, I had taken two painkillers which are normally more than enough, but didn't do jack shit this time round. I was actually pale in the face, felt nauseous, dizzy and my entire lower back and my lower abdomen were hurting like hell. Didn't know if I needed to throw up or not, and was considering spending the evening sitting in the bathroom with my back to the (glorious) heater and deciding whether or not crying would be a good idea, when Sabrina came back and proceeded to have what sounded like a very intense phone conversation in her room, with foot-stomping and yelling, so I dragged myself over to Carmen's place instead. Probably alarmed her a bit with my insistence of staying seated on the floor of her bathroom, clutching her god-send water bottle and trying not to moan in pain at random intervals. But it helped, and eventually, after about an hour and after a lot of water and tea I felt well enough to head back to my own place. Jeebus christ, I sure as hell hope that this won't start to be a usual occurrence! DNW to be utterly fucked up over this every damn month, ughhhhh. /womanly woes

ON THURSDAY/AFTER I WAKE UP AGAIN:
-I MUST GET STARTED WITH ABWL PRACTICE. OH MY FUCKING GOD SELF YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO START SINCE MONDAY, GET WITH IT!!!
-Get mail (+presents) started for people and ready to send off (or at least a first batch)! Have already laid out all potential postcards that were carefully hoarded in Copenhagen and collected over the years... and wow that was an exercise that shouldn't have taken as long as it did. Shows how ingrained my pack-rat mentality is that it took me at least multiple attempts to put a travel location card in the "to-send" pile. I mean, I KNOW I do not need at least 3 different motifs for each city I've been in, but tell that to my inner-rabid collector.

OH AND EVERYONE!, if you are not already, this is me telling you to go check out all the goodness that is being posted over at [livejournal.com profile] yuletart right now! I can't wait to see when mine is gonna get posted, but until that happens, there are other super cool artworks and handicrafts being posted three times a day! LIKE THIS FUN STAR TREK ART. Ahhh, so cute!!
kaiserkuchen: (SPN! Judged and found wanting)
After nearly two weeks of blessed non-Sabrina-ness, she hath returned since a few days ago. And already I am being driven to heights of irritation from her conduct, and I guess there is also the residual annoyance of the state of things last week before cleaned them. The hairy and suspiciously be-liquided fridge, the grime-tastic state of the showers, you name it. And now the hair in the sink, and the presence what will no doubt be the usual scattering of what could be termed food rests and crumbs in the sink and surrounding areas, clogging up the drains. So I plucked up my reserves of indignation, and set to talk to her briefly about things.

And of course, all my cutting arguments, valid reasons and just pleas for sanitation became pale whispers and awkward stammerings when faced with her blank, unimpressed face. And of course, the bald-faced denial that I really should know how to deal with by now, but of course let go unchecked. How could she answer "what did you do to the fridge that caused it to look like that" with "well, I don't know what you're talking about. I clean it, too, and I must have overseen it, then." WELL DAMN, YOU "OVERSAW" STREAKS OF BROWN GOO? ENCRUSTED FAT OR WHATEVER THAT WAS HUGGING THE GRATES? YOU MUST BE BLIND, I GUESS THIS EXPLAINS EVERYTHING. So, all in all I guess that was another resounding failure in: Attempts to Negotiate with Slobs Part XIV-BILLIONTY, and I await what her next volley of filth will be. I saw that she has placed her own toothpaste on the counter, but still, mine remains ~*weirdly*~ moved from it's precise position every time I am in the bathroom after she's been in there. I think I need to hide my facewash or something, if this goes on. OH APATHY GOGGLES, PLEASE SWITCH ON AGAIN, I am feeling oddly all out of sorts because of this gaaaaaah I cannot have my own place too damn soon.

In other more pleasant news, am making slooooooow headway with the interview transcriptions, and hopefully will have them all done and at least a few pages of ACTUAL THESIS CONTENT by this Sunday! There is still time, I just have to remember that I finished my BAKK1 Thesis in basically two weeks and that managed to work out somehow (okay, that was also due to [livejournal.com profile] cheshire_tabby's mindblowing beta work mainly ♥). DEEP BREATHS.
Apparently I will also be out for a Girls Night Out with some friends of Wido tonight, we will be hitting up an Australian Pub, and I for one am intrigued. And already confused about how the best way for me to get home from that corner of town will be. UGH I HATE RUNNING AROUND TOWN ALONE AT NIGHT :///

Things that have been unbelievable in cheering me up and distracting me from my woes are the following YT clips, that I will be embedding behind the cut in all their glory.

CLICK ME FOR FUNTIMES ♥ )
kaiserkuchen: (OT3! Karekano lovin' FTW)
Which means that I finally got the chance to watch the Korean movie version of Fumi Yoshinaga's brilliant, brilliant manga Antique Bakery someone put on YOUTUBE in its ENTIRETY (+IN ACE QUALITY!!)and honestly? IT WAS SO GOOD. I expected something shallow and fun, but was prepared to cringe a bit from the adaptation, but it was A-with-a-capital-A adorable, quite faithful and detail-oriented and just all around well-made. The casting for the actors! The fact that they actually didn't cop out on Jean-Baptiste and Sun-Woo (=Ono) actually kissing on screen! THE (ACTUALLY NOT ALL THAT BAD) FRENCH! The musical numbers, seriously! And I admit, the last few minutes of the movie had me tearing up a bit, just like every time I reread the manga. The sense of calm, of just moving on with your life-- kjafhk basically, Fumi Yoshinaga's work so owns my heaaaaaart. which is why I will NEVER EVER EVER watch the craptacular j-dorama, hissssssssss

IN CONCLUSION: IF ANY OF YOU GUYS FEEL THE NEED FOR A MOOD LIFTER, CLICK THAT YT LINK ASAP. OR TORRENT THE DAMN MOVIE. It is brilliant and full of hot guys and delicious cake and even more delicious plot and character interactions, and then you should buy the manga and I will then hook you up with the porny dojinshi that the mangaka actually continued with drawing, AND IT'LL BE ALL GOOD. I mean, I was in kind of a crappy mood, and hella tired to boot, but now I have watched the movie and am now quite cheerful! Still tired as fuck, but w/e~~

AS A BONUS/PICTORIAL PROOF, SOME MOVIE POSTER PICS )

AND OF COURSE, the following meme, which is full of Truth and Moar Truth: If there is one person or more on your friends list who makes your world a better place just because they exist and who you would not have met (in real life or not) without the internet, then post this same sentence in your journal.
kaiserkuchen: (LOL! More shots of reality bzwuuuh??)
A FIRST ATTEMPT. 4:12 minutes of random chattering, using the word fantastic three times to describe fashion and dresses in less than two minutes (WHOOPS), some Thai (my a-accent ._.) and me actually using the words WUNDERBAR and SCHÖN far too many times in my German rambling. ALSO I NEARLY STUMBLE OVER THE WORD 'INTERAGIEREN' d'ohhh. I was magically not that vulgar for my standards though, and no internet acronyms were abused in this audio recording. SHOCKING, I KNOW. Normally I would say I don't have such a weird, halting cadence though-- even if apparently my voice levels DO go UUUUP and down lol. Sorry for the large file, converting it to mp3. from Audacity involved downloading weird fiddly bits and the wav. option went the easiest.

Here is the S.Oliver's website, by the by!

SO UH, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK LOLOL 8Db

ALSO: I couldn't wait and watched a crappy camrip version of Up yesterday, AND BASICALLY BAWLED MY WAY THROUGH THE ENTIRE MOVIE. SO BEAUTIFUL AND TOUCHING AND HILARIOUS AND WONDERFUL, holy shiny balloons and dodos! The talking dogs (EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE forever)! Russel and Carl! CARL AND ELLIE'S EPIC LOVE, oh my god, I could tear up just thinking about that opening sequence. MY HEAAAART. I need to watch this again in theaters and I will spring the cash for the original DVD when it comes out. Stunning work, and I think my utter favorite from Pixar now. AHHH ♥
kaiserkuchen: (TezuAto! This is how it's done boy)
First, I am mugged by deadlines and stress. Then I spend the majority of Wednesday and Thursday feeling sore, sick and generally So Not Fine At All that it feels as if my brain decided to go on holiday and leave a warm and mushy sponge behind. And now I find out that DHL is fucking around with my Thai Visa form that Ma sent since last week (so they tell me they've been here twice, but where were my notifications? And why is the DHL office so damn far away? What should I travel to Simmering/Bleibtreustraße for?? :///) and new deadlines rear their head. Oh and I am apparently already in the double digits of my monthly €. FFFFFF WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS MONTH. June is supposed to be full of sun! Buying fresh fruit and eating berries all the time!

But talking about things that have been tiny sprinkles of awesome though-- I finally managed to upload my FB Roma roma roma album! Expect a condensed selection to hit LJ soon (along with the backlogged Germany pics and uh, damn I probably have quite the backlog eh??). Carmen and I watched My Bloody Valentine 3D and managed not to actually get sick from watching a 3D horror movie in our less than optimal health! MMMH BIG SCREEN JENSEN ACKLES. The movie itself was totally hilarious (there sure were a lot of chicks cackling madly throughout the film lolol Austro-SPN fen??), though I admit to closing my eyes at certain scenes. LIKE THE DRYER CORPSE, OLGA YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN RIGHT DDD: And for being my ~first ever~ 3D movie, it was pretty damn fun, even if I thought the blurriness at times was due to having to wear my 3D-glasses on top of my normal glasses, but uh, it's the ramifications of the technology at the moment, I guess? *SHRUGS*

Tomorrow we will be going to a Thai food/culture festival that is currently being held at the AAKH until the 9th! I totally would have missed it if my uni errands hadn't made me go past the Campus and hear the lilting sound of someone actually speaking in Thai over the speakers. THEY HAVE DELISH THAI DESSERTS ♥ And I shouldn't be spending money, especially since I'm going to be in Thailand in less than a month already (EEEEEEEEE!!), but still! I can eat toast for the next few days or something. Or use the credit card. Ummm *shifty eyes of low impulse control*
kaiserkuchen: (MyBossMyHero! Voyeur sense--tingling??)
YOU GUYS. Time has magically elapsed quick like a mofo since Monday evening, what the hell. It all started when Carmen and I were only just supposed to go to Sven's birthday party pre-gaming session... and of course then we ended tagging along to go clubbing at the ~*Ride Club*~ after all. Which sucks and is a bastion of sleaze and desperate, desperate douchebaggery/whorishness --as usual, good to have that reconfirmed-- and I also got my fantasy of Eramus Exchange Program parties being fantastic rightly shattered and it was shown to me as the full of suck and clique-y people shindig it was. And the music! Fucking Katy Perry and Pussycat Dolls, nooooo. We left at 2AM with Stephen (who was one of the few honestly entertaining and cool people there), and ended up in the totally wasted Pano dorm kitchen where the pregaming was held, just drinking beer and talking about randomness until the wee hours of the morning. Awesome beginning and awesome conclusion, if only the actual clubbing part could have been snipped out!
.........and of course I proceeded to HATE MYSELF for the entire Tuesday, because I was A)tired as fuck, B)cramping up like woah and C)because I realized that I was so screwed for my BAKK2 presentation on Wednesday. Which ended up in 3AM bedtimes and frantic last-minute work as usual, and hating myself some more when I had to wake up this morning at 8AM to barely make it to my 9.30AM WERB UE in time. And really, the best part of this BAKK2 stress?

ALL OF MY PANIC-Y EFFORTS WERE FOR NOTHING, because the teacher didn't even listen to my presentation (we had to simultaneously present on each half of the classroom, a teaching tactic that I DESPISE PASSIONATELY, such bullshit) and when I gave her my presentation poster for some feedback as she had yet to actually see it after the seminar, this is what she did:
TEACH: *unrolls poster, gazes at it* Hmm. Yes. Everything seems very... clearly arranged here. Quite adequate. *rolls it back up, hands it to me*
SHAZ: .............................thank......you.

QUITE ADEQUATE?? QUITE ADEQUATE?? WOW. That just really makes me feel so secure in what I have accomplished so far! Who the fuck wants a 'quite adequate'? And more importantly, what grade does she give a 'quite adequate'? Because that smells like a 4er to me and akjsfhkajsh, AUGHHH. Is a half-way decent feedback that actually makes emotion flicker in her cold, cold eyes too much to ask for? :// I really like her otherwise, but wow do I ever get nervous when you can't read teacher's reactions in situations like these.

And to end this on a non-bitchery note, I am so psyched about various movies right now that I am all unable to watch. Typical, I know, yet still always so frustrating. UP! STAR TREK! Also I have not forgotten about: I LOVE YOU, MAN. *grabby handssss* Re: UP, if you haven't seen it yet, everyone should check out this clip: MEET DUG THE DOG. AHHH I NEED TO WATCH THIS MOVIE NOW. Obviously not just for the dogs, because all the reviews I've read make me just so excited for everything about this movie, yet it is every so hard to not immediately succumb to the charm of "I HAVE JUST MET YOU AND I LOVE YOU". AHHH his dumb doggie face reminds me so much of our dogs, I cannot deaaaal.

PEE ESS [livejournal.com profile] apple_scruffer, I am mucho glad that you liked the ~*SUPER SECRET SCHWAG*~ bb! All the best for youuuu, of course! Man, this time the postage service at least fucking finally delivered-- I ADMIT, I WAS PRETTY NERVOUS.
kaiserkuchen: ('Lupin'! SNIK SNIK MUTHAFUCKA)
<-- Rin (if you're reading this), I don't even think I was peripherally involved in this in-joke or whatever, but only just seeing it on your LJ page was enough to make me continue to crack up every time I see it spelled that way :Db

SO BASICALLY CARMEN AND I FELT THE BURNING NEED TO SPEND MONEY TO SEE GIANT HUGH JACKMAN BE ALL ACTION-Y AND SHIT

Wolverine 'thoughts', out of order reactions and braindribble of no real redeeming value. OH AND A CLIP OF GAMBIT BECAUSE EVERY LJ ENTRY NEEDS MOAR GAMBIT )

AND ALSO: Have some pretty cool TV-Spots for Wolverine, Gambit, Sabretooth, Wade Wilson and Wraith! THE MENANCE IN LIEV SCHREIBER'S VOICE. Gambit's hat! EEEE :Db
kaiserkuchen: (SPN! Lolcat BON JOVIIII)
I've claimed a story for [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang! The summary: "RPS AU. A practical carpenter, Jensen doesn’t believe in magic or fairytales--but when a messenger appears from thin air looking for him, he finds himself drawn into a mission to rescue a wizard he has no memory of, who just happens to be trapped in a place no one knows how to get to. Set in modern times with fantasy elements, including a palace of birds, alchemy, and a tower east of the sun and west of the moon."
Akjsfhakjf I am already so psyched, lol I was eagerly scrolling through the stories for something that wasn't all too DARK!!1, because as awesome as that may be at times, I think it's the last word that can be used to describe my art (that I have been woefully lazy in actually bringing past sketch stage/posting on LJ whoops). But fairytale happenings! ACH ♥
Looking forward to using this as an occasion to really get to create something fun and awesome and COMPLETE, lol this is probably the main reason I feel the need to sign-up for such things, I need the pressure to actually do shit.

Speaking of Supernatural-- oh how I wish season 4 wouldn't be over so soon already D:! I haven't really been LJing any ep reactions lately, because youtube has been intensely vexing with the speed that it takes the eps down that people post for schmucks like me who aren't able to torrent things. I mean, I will probably spend the entire summer once I get the DVDs in BKK rewatching like a mofo, but it's the whole immediacy of getting to watch the eps NOW that is the real deal. THIS SEASON FINALE/LAST TWO EPS WILL SO KILL ME DEAD THOUGH. SAM! DEAN! DDD:!
(This difficulty is also the reason why I haven't been watching Southland, eventhough the first ep was really good and I am already intrigued by all the characters. Ben McKenzie, helllllo again~~)

But now for some (multi-fandom)links/recs:

_Raidou vs. King Abbadon Release Art Countdown ...[livejournal.com profile] amei and [livejournal.com profile] wredwrat are both brilliant, brilliant artists who have an immensely high turnout rate of awesome, mostly game-related art, and nothing exemplifies this better than having a look at this chock-full o' goodness blog. Megaten goods, unfff. Also IP cockblocking is keeping me from seeing the pics on their LJs, so I am hella thankful for this kind of 'Umweg' lol
_Seriously one of the BEST Iron Man vids I have seen in a while ...seriously, WATCH IT. Ace editing, and the song just fits like a fist to the face. Fantastic!
kaiserkuchen: (OTP! Something moves within my heart)
Just watched The Fall today with Miss Olga, in an act of awesome socialization that basically saved my Saturday from being just the day where I failed to actually get myself showered and ready to go buy some groceries before they closed in the time-span of uh, six hours. When I say that I am sometimes a profoundly lethargic person, this is about the kind of stuff I get up to when at my low points, lol what. DID manage to clean the disgusting thing that is our toilet brush receptacle and actually change the old, FOUL one for a new one (actually a glass cleaner and thus totally small, but whatever). There seems to be no point in buying normal toilet brushes, as dearest Sabrina roomie seems to have ~mysterious~ bowel issues that always involve making the public bathroom toilet brushes look more pristine than ours. I hope I am not jinxing myself by typing this, but she has been gone for the whole last week! Left some trash to molder again (that I am currently ignoring), but she is not here, fuck yeahhhhhh :DD

BUT THAT ASIDE, back to the movie. My non-spoilery review: HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS MOVIE IS GORGEOUS. The scenery! The colors! Everything was so insanely lushly costumed and sumptuously shot and breathtakingly and heartstoppingly beautiful and Lee Pace(♥ ♥) and the little girl were all kinds of wonderful (their relationship ngggg socute). My face during the movie could basically be summed up by the following emoticons-- :O, with sprinklings of D:!! and :D!!. I was ever so engrossed in the story and I loved how the two worlds of the actual hospital staff and patients and the fantastic world that Roy was telling Alexandria of were slowly merging together in Alexandria's imagination and ahh *flails*. If Olga wasn't sitting right next to me, I totally would have also started crying at at least two separate scenes in the movie, haaah.

SO BASICALLY, if you guys have the chance, you should all watch this ASAP! It will seriously blow your mind ♥ For further gorgeous eyecandy, please to be checking out THIS PICSPAM.

And to round this off, one of my favorite pics/production stills from an image search :DD )

ONLY ONE MORE DAY LEFT BEFORE I HAVE TO LEAVE BAAAAW D: Man, it was hella awesome so far and I seriously have seen so much, and have also spent so much money on postcards, so assorted people shall probably be getting some soon! And by soon I mean in the next two weeks once I finally motivate myself to fill them out, then another few days of delay as I forget to get to the post office in team. Like usual, you know :DDb

Still, before I go into detail about my awesome northern adventures (I will totally try and upload pictures this time!!1), I feel the urge to share with you my intensely traumatic movie experience of two days ago. Also known as "Martyrs" by Pascal Laugier. No lies, this is now officially THE ABSOLUTELY MOST HIDEOUS AND DISGUSTING SICK SICK SICK SHIT I HAVE EVER SET MY EYES UPON. I don't give a damn that apparently all the French horror movie fans are apparently collectively creaming their pants over this dreck, but seriously. We ended up watching it till the bitter end, in the vain hope of some form of resolution, but what came was the equivalent of crapping in your already craptacular sundae of crap, and sprinkling it with tiny, tiny bits of turd. It lures you in with the appearance of being a kickass Kill Bill-esque girl gets revenge on the people who abducted and tortured her for no apparent reason yeaaaars ago flick, but oh nooo. I WILL NEVER GET THESE TWO HOURS OF MY LIFE BACK, WHICH IS WHY I NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS IN DETAIL DD: )

AND TO END THIS ON A POSITIVE NOTE: WE ALSO WATCHED MONSTERS VS. ALIENS TODAY AND IT WAS SUPER CUTE, EVEN IN THE GERMAN DUB! I WANT AN INSECTOSAURUS-FLY AND AN ESCARGOTSAURUS AND BOB AND BASICALLY EVERYONE, THEY WERE SO AWESOME ♥ ♥

In lieu of the detailed MÜC post that I may or may not write +pics, depending how much I end up blathering on FB when I finally get around to uploading some of my 211 pics: MÜNCHEN WAS FUCKING AWESOME!!1. I admit, I was a bit wary at first-- I didn't really have concrete expectations of the city and I was very used to just traveling with Carmen only and was curious as to how our old-new group dynamic would be. But it was just really a pleasure and it was so palpable that yes, I have now known Laura and Angie for over 12 years and it was just lovely and comfortable to wander around town with them until my feet and lower back started hating me . Although I should just about resign myself to the fact that apparently I snore ("Well it's kind of like, you start out breathing really loudly? And then 'knggggghzzzz', but you're not as bad as my Dad?" "...gee, thanks Angie.") and will always be the last one to wake-up and get ready. An early-riser, even in hostels, I will never be!

Now that I am back I am just basically reeling at all the awesome the internet apparently has to suddenly offer, and of course the faint shadows of my university responsibilities loom ever present in the rapidly approaching future. I have become incapable of paying attention in lectures anymore. Spent the time in Communications Ethics that I wasn't admiring how ~distinguished and dapper~ our swank silver-haired old prof looks with Carmen actually reading the WATCHMEN English version comic I bought in München. Not done yet, but I really like what I am reading so far, though bits of it made me really have to dial down the 'ugh!!' and 'omggg' and 'DDD:!!' reactions that I felt like having. We also watched the ~movie version~ today! And I must say that all three of us (Clemens decided to deign us with his presence, too) basically spent the entire movie staring at the screen in rapt fascination. JDM as the Comedian was just as brilliant as I expected, I will forever covet the Silk Spectre II's glorious hair and Dan/Nite Owl really pinged me hard on my surprise 'GUYS THAT ARE SOMEHOW INTENSELY, INTENSELY HOT and wow look at that ASS' radar BUT. Rorschach. HOLY SHIT, best character in the whole damn movie ever, he was fucking fantastic. I really need to watch this again with the original voices, though I really must say that they did an ace job with the dubbing.

YET I STILL HAVE TO AGREE WITH EVERYONE WHO SAID THAT THE USE OF MUSIC IN THIS MOVIE IS CLUNKY AND FUCKED ALL THE WAY TO HELL. I don't think I was supposed to laugh at the 'Hallelujah' sex scene (the whole theater sure did with me XDD)? And 99 Luftballons! I mean, I am aware that the song meaning was fitting and all, but I can never not associate 99 Luftballons with with the type of intensely silly and stupid things that the use of that song in the movie probably didn't intend.

MOAR TOMORROW I GUESS~
kaiserkuchen: (LOL! They be mighty tasty!)
So Carmen and I went to watch ~*TWILIGHT*~ yesterday! I am shocked to say that I actually had a hilarious time of it, and was probably one of the few people in the jam-packed movie theater that kept laughing obnoxiously at inappropriate times (I KEPT SAYING LOL OUT LOUD. I COULDN'T STOP). The guys next to me kept throwing me weird looks, but then they were also kind of in the wrong film methinks, as their pre-movie convo consisted of "Well I don't know much about this movie, but (friend's name) told me 'DUDE YOU GOTTA CHECK THIS SHIT OUT' so yeah, here I am." PRO TIP DUDE: I THINK YOUR FRIEND WAS LYING TO YA.

TWILIGHT COMMENTARY )

After that, Carmen and I decided to take up Clemens' offer of beer and popped by his place for a quick visit that should've not ended later than 2AM (it was currently 11PM when we came outta Twilight). WEEELL SO MUCH FOR THAT, WE ENDED UP WALKING HOME THIS MORNING AT 7 FUCKING AM. I have never been up for so late since ages, and I was flagging like hell ever since the 4AM mark, but in a retrospective case of hilarious failure to communicate, Carmen and I both thought that the other wanted to stay longer and didn't want to be the dick who breaks up the impromptu session we had going there. Had some fun convos with Clemens, who was a lovely host constantly providing us with nibbles and alcoholic beverages and we watched various youtube clips and The Onion Movie, which was crass yet oddly hilarious. STEVEN SEGAL AS THE COCK PUNCHER!! MELINDA CHERRY! And that one outtakes scene with the kittens in batter, lolllll. Tried to make our way through The Golden Compass too, but I had to jump ship at that point as I was about this far from falling asleep on the spot and we both didn't want to spend the night/morning at Clemens' place. He was getting a bit touchy-feely with Carmen on the bed and it was high time for both of us to bail (I was on the beanbag on the floor next to them, an obviously superior place to be, imho :DD).

AND THEN I WOKE UP AT 2PM TODAY AND THE PINNACLE OF MY ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR HAVE BEEN a)SWITCH ON LAPTOP, b)TYPE SHIT ON IT AND c)MAKE FOOD AND EAT IT. Tomorrow doesn't look all too bright either, daaaaaaaaaaaaammit self! This is why I never go clubbing anymore (besides the fact that that shit is heavy on the cashmoney)-- you just get so fucked the entire day after and are utterly useless
kaiserkuchen: (Pundits! Pondering serious thoughts etc)
Internets! I come to you with yet another story about my ~lovely~ roommate, but this time I refrained from being a dick in dealing with it! I think! And I was so proud of myself I just had to write this down. THE SABRINA SAGA, Part 28462 )

Also got to see the movie Inkheart/Tintenherz with Carmen today. Lovely and heartwarming fantasy fare, good fun! ALSO FEATURES PAUL BETTANY SHIRTLESS (for a few scenes), which is an added incentive if I ever heard of one. Ashfinger's scenes were clearly the best, and his rapport with Farid and his ferret thing were hilarious. I would so watch a road movie of their excellent adventures! I am filled with a sudden urge to rewatch Paul Bettany in Wimbledon (♥ that movie). Speaking of movies/dvds, also dropped some cash at Saturn today for The Departed and a double-disk feature of Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead on DVD, woo! I mean, I already have numerous fakes of the latter, but this time I have the original DVD extras <33

I LEAVE YOU WITH THIS CUTE CLIP OF LEE PACE AND AMY ADAMS SINGING. I seriously love Lee Pace's voice, and apparently he sings quite nicely too, as this clip shows :>. Anyone know if he's read for any audiobooks??
kaiserkuchen: (Daniel Craig! TRUE FACTS)
Again, the internet and getting to watch JAMES EFFING BOND: QUANTUM OF SOLACE!!!1 just now in the original soundtrack pull through and succeed in distracting me from the grand funk and self-pity party I had going on the last few days. Shitty uni news/grades and a general underlying sense of inexplicable rage that is probably partly due to hormones, yay. BUT! Quantum of Solace was SO FUCKING GOOD. One of the things I love about the Daniel Craig-era Bond movies, besides the obvious ahem, physical attributes of Mr. Bond, is the fact that the action scenes are really thrilling and top-notch, yet at the same time still remain intensely entertaining. And perhaps I was never really into Pierce Brosnan or every other Bond that wasn't Sean Connery but I never laugh as much at a Bond's quips or comments than I do now. It must also be noted that Daniel Craig really is a fucking feast for the eyes, godddddd the way he wears ANY- AND EVERYTHING, but especially a suit. Fuck me, he is so intensely attractive, I almost can't deal. SO MANLY, UNFFFF (EXTRA BONUS: When he is all roughed up, dirty and bloody. HOT DAMN SON.) Olga whatshername playing Camille was also surprisingly awesome and utterly kickass. Such a gorgeous lady ♥

In other happy internet things, the following links/clips have brought at least the RL approximation of this :DDDD

__I don't care if it's not Halloween anymore, Heidi Klum's Kali costume is still ten flavors of AWESOME.
__This Dissidia FF game is REALLY intriguing me. ESPECIALLY AS TIDUS IS IN IT FUCK YEAHHHHHH ♥
__I shouldn't be finding Zac Efron so attractive. But boy is one helluva looker now, holy shiiiiit.
__...I MEAN, SERIOUSLY. At least I haven't watched the Highschool Musical movies. YET. ...dammit.
__Lady Gaga has such awesome songs. I almost wish she had another name though, because I mean, whaaaat.
__So like, I found the earwormy Thai indie rock band song that was haunting me on YT yesterday. The lyrics/chorus are SO RANDOM, but I really dig it.
__Speaking of Thai music, there is no such thing as posting too many links of the same Moderndog song over and over again. I LOVE 'TA SAWANG' SO FUCKING MUCH. Moderndog songs are my forever girl. AHHH.
__I wish I had too much money and could buy dresses like this SNAP SNAP. When Anna Sui has it, oh hell yes she has it.
__Jude Law saves RDJ crotch!! So heroic~~
__ANDERSON COOPER ILU
__...especially after reading this article too. Lol holograms lol
kaiserkuchen: (Rena! Mine is a BATSHIT INSANE laugh)
TRUE FACT: TROPIC THUNDER IS SO FUCKING HILARIOUS AND AWESOME. And even when dubbed in German! Oh man, the entire theater was simply cracking up every five minutes and I was so far beyond laughing normally, I bypassed 'laughing like a crazy person' and touched down at 'braying like a donkey', so inelegant but oh it was so much fun ♥ ♥. I loved the fake trailers, I loved the entire freaking cast, the gags and INSANITY, I loved the beautiful beautiful surroundings (they shot in Hawaii, right), I loved all the cameos and even THAT SPECIAL ONE and jdkjkjfsa. I seriously need some DVDs of Kirk Lazarus's uh, oeuvre now. Also: PANDA HAT!

And speaking of movies, I managed to watch Die Hard 4.0 and Escape from New York when I was still in BKK and these two are proof of how entertaining and just plain kick-ass a good action movie can be. John McClane needs so introduction and I was surprised that Bruce Willis still manages to kick an INSANE amount of ass even in this fourth installment. AND THE ACTION IS SO BALLS TO THE WALL CRAZY. BATSHIT CRAZY. The young hacker dude was also cute and had a lot of chemistry with McClane and I totally admit that once I watched the movie I went online and checked out some ahem fic, too. Watching Escape from New York on the other hand is an exercise in how almost ridiculous the action movies of yesteryear can seem (1981!!), but oh if Kurt Russel isn't surprisingly insanely hot and the ultimate badass as Snake Plissken (EYE PATCHHHHHHHH). I mean, yowzaaaaaaaa ♥! And when it's said that Solid Snake from MGS is based of this character, they really mean it. Lol never figured the sheer extent of it and kjahsfjfs hearing Kurt Russel do the Snake-growly thing, heeeekjafhfam. The plot of the movie was equally craaaaaaaazy though, and because of it, super fun watching :Dbb.

In conclusion-- HOLY SHIT RUPERT GRINT GOT HOT(TER). I have absolutely no interest in seeing whatever Emma Thompson gets up to after the HP movies, I might check out DanRad's stuff, but it is Rupert who always seems to get the interesting movie roles now. And I totally loved Driving Lessons, I admit! TREEFAAAAAAAACE!

Ugh am so tired right now, will comment on posts and comments I meant to do earlier when I awake from zonking out laterssssssssss :DD
