...but never actually get around to doing, because the past week and change has been chock full of GRADE A work dramarama bullshit and my attempts at dealing by diving headfirst into distractions and MOAR TV. Loy Krathong last weekend was pretty damn fabulous though, and did wonders for my mood... will post pics soonish, probably as a form of procrastination** from my next looming deadline: .......YULETART *DRAMATIC MUSIC*

**today's procrastination (DAY OFF WORK YESS), broken down:
-went to the gym with I.
-decided to go watch Captain Fine in Unstoppable, which honestly was a very solidly entertaining action movie. How they made trains! and railroads! and railway infrastructure! interesting was just about the biggest shock for me. AND OF COURSE, SEEING CPINE'S FACE ON A GIANT MOVIE SCREEN = money well spent. What I didn't expect was the amount of ass Rosario Dawson's character would kick though, so no-nonsense and awesome <33 And as an added bonus since I just rewatched last weeks episode of Community this morning: PROFESSOR PROFESSORSON is in it, too :DDD
-ran some errands, bought dinner and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert (OM NOM NOM)
-ate dinner and read 20K of Hawaii Five-0 fic and moar Glee fic. Watched Darren Criss being a charming mofo singing "Hey Soul Sister" for the bazillionth time.
-decided to spend 4 HOURS backing up my pictures and vids and mounting a (futile) attempt to sort out my fandom pic folders.

-look at the clock, see that it was nearly 1AM, curse and finally open Photoshop.

BUT! I have made good progress, and have thus rewarded myself with this post and the SWEET GIFT OF SLEEP. Tomorrow/later today, I will finally see HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS kjafjkah am so excited, ngl.

A grab-bag, as again I find myself unable to do these things in a timely manner.

BOOKS!
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire + Mockingjay
It's been nearly more than a month since I finished both these books and of course since I didn't take any notes I have only the vaguest of recollections.
STILL, cutting for spoilers for both (but mostly for Mockingjay) )

...I continue to have a tenuous grasp on time management and juggling my responsibilities. Though in my defense I was quite sick from the time of my last posting- that week was basically a wash. Monday sick leave, Tuesday work where started to kind of already feel shitty then, but I dragged myself to work on Wednesday because I was stubborn and wanted to finish a translation. Ended up leaving after less than three hours and spent the rest of the day rolling around my apartment and feeling sorry for myself. Ma did drop by to give me home-made (!) chicken soup and lime + honey to make soothing juice, though. Thursday I called in sick again and went to the hospital for a check-up to find out what was up with my body trying to make life hell for me-- since apparently coughing like it was going out of style and having a fucked voice wasn't bad enough (not like I actually need to use my voice for my job or anything), well! My body decided early that week that it wasn't going to accept most of what I tried to introduce as food to it. In retrospect, probably about 85% of my feeling like crap at work, especially as I was back on Friday again, was due to MY INTENSE FEELINGS OF HUNGER. The end diagnosis ended up being ~acute bronchitis with a side helping of gastro-intestinal fuckery~. But I did finally get around to finding out my blood-group after 22 years of life: I AM A+! Something which was somehow intensely amusing to me. BRB looking at those blood-group personality test thingies now.

I was really nervous about this sickness not being over and done with before my BKK trip that was from last Friday until this Tuesday (especially the food thing, because damn if that would've screwed everything beautiful about BKK time!), but PRAISE THE DEITIES it was all okay. I still maintain the fact that our office is a giant teeming petri-dish for bacteria and this company is absolutely horrible if you want to leave work early if you feel like shit or are actualfax sick. SO MUCH HASSLE INVOLVED, IT IS NO WONDER I WASN'T SICK BEFORE. This was actually my first legit sickness in about 3 years, iirc.

I still feel the vestiges of a cough lurking in my throat right now-- it has reached that insanely irritating stage where you feel like you constantly need to clear your throat every 20 seconds, and you just know that every one around you is secretly hating you because you sound disgusting and you feel disgusting and ughhhhhh.

ALSO THERE ARE ANTS IN MY ROOM AGAIN. WHAT ARE THEY DOING THERE FML AND FUCK THIS STUPID APARTMENT.

Moaaar posts to come (BKK recap! TEH DRAMAZ AT WORK! etc!), I just had to at least get this off my chest lol.

And because I would do anything for dearest Carmen, it would be awesome if you all could just click this link and vote for bifi!

Thanks to what I figure is the swirling morass of germs I call my office, I ended up sick for most of the weekend. Delightful hacking cough, headache and wooziness, the works. I actually went to bed at 10.30PM on Saturday and woke up at 8AM the next morning, which is just all kinds of disturbing. Felt well enough on Sunday for a movie with the ladies, but couldn't be arsed to go to work today so I figured I'd call sick for once. First time in nearly 4 months of working here, so even if they suspect this is less than honest, I doubt I'd get any flack for it. Though have totally learned something of vital importance for next time. DEAR SELF, REMEMBER TO CALL IN SICK THE DAY OF WORK, NOT SUNDAY NOON BECAUSE FOR SOME REASON YOU THINK "GIVING ADVANCE NOTICE" IS SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD. Took Ma, D. and I. going "how stupid are you??" for this to finally sink in, but ah well.

Have spent this day reading far too much fic and actually more than half-heartedly cleaned my apartment! Still doesn't change the fact that I really don't like it here all that much any more. So glad it's just me in here and I will never have so show any one the premises XD.

SOME TV THOUGHTS/SQUEE/RAMBLING NOW.

The Vampire Diaries S2x06

...and heyyy, that was more blather than I thought I had in me. Huh.

PS coughing so hard you give yourself headaches sucks. But then I look at my new CPine icons and I feel slightly better. HOW CAN THIS SHOOT NOT IMPROVE ONE'S LIFE. Can't get over that first pic, hello wallpaper at work! There better be some way for me to get my hands on this magazine here *plots*
kaiserkuchen: (TVD! Damon is Not Impressed)
Or at least the willpower to not go down the same road of "well I do have pressing things to do in the 2-3 hours I have after coming home from work past midnight BUT WAIT LET ME READ 20K OF FIC FIRST YES" every damn night. OH WELL, AT LEAST IT IS THE WEEKEND NOW. I survived a week of midnight shift without having to drink a single coffee! I even had a whole day without having to take calls today! Got to attempt and fail to translate 43 not quite jam-packed but very unevenly written and melodramatic Powerpoint presentation slides from German to English in 8 hours instead, and it is extra unpaid work that I will gladly take. Anything to keep me from having to talk to the idiotic callers that are somehow an extra special flavor of thick when it is a Friday.

Last weekend was also our very first new office office-party, and in retrospect that most exciting thing that happened was ........wait, I can't even think of anything besides the fact that a bunch of people seem to had gotten some mild stomach flu from the food, which isn't even exciting and more along the lines of depressing. We had "unlimited beer" though, which led to one of my colleagues (NB) coming up with the following charming statement about me to someone's plus one, said with the sincere belief of the blasted to their eyeballs wasted:
"Isn't her accent amazing?? It's just so American! *makes mock "American" noises to illustrate her point* And I sound so British instead, and sometimes when I hear her talk to clients in English I think that she is just so good BUT OH IT'S JUST SO DREADFUL-SOUNDING BECAUSE IT'S AMERICAN ENGLISH" ...yeah, idek what to say to that.

A lot of things have been happening and I have been remiss in blogging about them, so this weekend I will try to catch up!

Now for randomosity! Some links of Bangkok-related awesome that I have been clicking through during work:
Still-Life in Moving Vehicles ...ever want to see just how amazing Thai cabs can look like? Well then this is the blog for you <3

5 Movies That Offer Eyeopening Views of Bangkok ...some movies that I definitely have to check out. And speaking of Thai movies, I am very vexed that I will probably not get to see Insee Daeng/Red Eagle before it is out of theaters :// IF ONLY I COULD SKIP WORK TO GO SEE MOVIES INSTEAD NEXT WEEK, GODDAMN.

Paolo Bacigalupi's "Windup-Girl" ...waiting for my order to come in from Asia Books and super excited to read this already~~

AND BECAUSE I CAN, this vid somehow makes me really happy:

...Even after numerous repeat viewings I still have not managed to get any more of the lyrics into my brain than what is in the chorus, but the video just never fails to make me smile. Her hair actually looks really cute in that style! And she just looks so happy and is working the hell outta her outfits AND THERE IS SWINGING INTO THE SKY AND TRIUMPHANT FISTS AND THE SUN SHINING ON YOU AND BALLOONS AND JUMPING AROUND WITH FIREWORKS EXPLODING and ssdjkfhjfd <33 How can I not be charmed?? Can't wait to actually boogie to this in a club somewhere, this better be on heavy rotation on MTV Thailand soon!
kaiserkuchen: (ETC! Dammit brain)
My world feels like it has narrowed in a weird way again. For a while it almost seemed different but now it is WORKWORKWORK...WEEKEND!!WORKWORKWORK again. My main task that I always seem to fail at remains going to bed at a reasonable time and emerging well-rested. A WORK IN PROGRESS SINCE MY SCHOOL YEARS AND WHAT SEEMS TO BE A LIFELONG ENDEAVOR.

I actually don't have nifty work stories, I reckon it is a deadly combination of my soul becoming deadened and also the callers suddenly becoming boring. Slowly decorating my cubicle remains enjoyable though and I have now turned I. into a true believer when it comes to Kate Beaton's awesome comics. HELP ME HANDSOME DOCTOR graces both our walls and still remains the best everrr <3

Last Saturday was actually another exercise in "Yes, You Should Act Like a Twenty-Something" where the ladies and I made a go at more of Chiang Mai's nightlife. This time, Fabrique, a club/disco in an actualfax (but slightly iffy looking) hotel that had ace soundproofing, l-lol. In true Thai fashion there was also an extra charge of a 300 Baht drink voucher for the foreigners (we were three Thais and three Germans/Dutch-mixes). Our casual and institutionalized racism, let me show you it! True facts: 1) Mixing drinks remains inadvisable and 2) No matter how hard you try, the average Thai lady will out-awesome you with her party outfit. So much classy sexiness to be seen. Perhaps I should invest in fancier flip-flops, but I just can't be fucked to wear heels with the amount of walking/dancing we do and before she left this weekend :( I always did stuff with PL who is still under 160cms with heels.
It was a great deal of fun though, especially when we wandered off to the still empty at midnight "House music" room, basically commandeered it and tried to bribe the DJ to play more RnB instead XD. I am not against house music per se, but daaaaamn I do appreciate the greater ease to boogie to RnB/Hip-Hop. And of course the following Sunday was mainly spent guzzling water, ahhh I am such a light-weight.

Things to look forward to: THIS FRIDAY I AM OFF AND THIS SUNDAY WE WILL BE SEEING TIGERS! That are probably drugged to high heavens at the Tiger Kingdom, but well. I guess I can get to see things with my own two eyes there, too? AND MONDAY I AM OFF AGAIN, WOO!

Here are some pictures from Chua Fa Din Salai! SUCH GLORIOUS COSTUMING. I am somewhat depressed that I will probably have to watch it by myself though ughhh maybe Esara will still be in town then? GUESS WHO SHOULD BE ASLEEP RIGHT NOW BECAUSE SHE HAS HER ~~FIRST DRIVING LESSONS EVER~~ TOMORROW AT TEN AM?

ahahaha.

This weekend has been flying by at a pace that is most displeasing to me. I want more time to loaf about, catch up on fic and yet also finish the books that are tempting me. Have made slight progress on The Demon's Covenant though, and I keep pausing at bits to make happy sighs and/or go "that was so clever!".

I will be posting an actualfax extensive post later (well at least I have uploaded pictures for it), but because I must be off now here is just the trailer of a Thai movie ("Chua Fa Din Salai" or "Eternity") that I am EXTREMELY LOOKING FORWARD TO WATCHING. ANANDA EVERINGHAM + PERIOD MOVIE BASED ON CLASSIC THAI LITERATURE (something I shamefully know next to nothing about) = YESPLZ.

TODAY IS A MAGICAL DAY, FOR IT IS THE DAY THAT A CERTAIN MISS OLGA GRACED THE WORLD WITH HER PRESENCE, and then 18 (? or was it 19 lol my memory) years later came into my life and vastly improved my time in Austria and also my life in general.

WHY IS OLGA SO COOL? Why gentle readers, let me count the ways:

1) OLGA IS ALWAYS UP FOR KINDS OF A++ FUN & CREATIVE ACTIVITIES
2) OLGA IS A FRIEND TO ALL ANIMALS
3) OLGA HAS THE BEST TASTE IN MOVIES
4) OLGA IS INSANELY WELL-READ AND KNOWS THE BEST TRIVIA
5) OLGA HAS A SWANK COUCH AND FANTASTIC BACHELORETTE PAD
6) OLGA HAS EXCELLENT TASTE IN FRENCH MONARCHS AND GENERAL CQ MOTHERFUCKERS

...

9999) BECAUSE I SAID SO ♥

The happiest of birthdays for you dearest, and I wish I could be there to partaaaaaaaaaay with you! Your present is just waiting to have the last touches assembled and for my uh, salary to come in (Friday!!) so I have enough money to send it off XDD

AND OMG YOUR PACKAGE IS STILL AMAZING TO ME IN ALL WAYS. Ma dropped it by this week and akjfhkdfhksdfjh DYING. [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang, YEAR TWO!

Here be my art for the lovely [livejournal.com profile] purequicksilver's adorable RPS J2 fic, I Dream of Jared.

This year's BB arting main theme for me was "EMBRACE THE COLO-- PIIINK AGAIN" and "stylize, stylize, stylize!". I sure as hell had a fun time drawing all of these (the subject matter alone proved irresistable), and I hope I can somehow convey a bit of happy and good cheer to y'all as well~.

Large images, a LOT of pink and some arteeeest ramblings await within )

EDIT: Apparently there is some kind of fuckery with regards to seeing all the pics. AM ON IT RIGHT NOW augh man, I swear I can use LJ you guys! PLEASE HOLD THE LINE.

SON OF EDIT: ALL IN THE CLEAR NOW. Looks like I was just wee bit too overzealous in marking every single picture as private in my scrapbook settings, whoops! Sorry for the delay + dumbassery. CARRY ON.

Also, just to make things clear this is only the art. Will add the fic link whenever it is done and ready! Which I don't personally don't know when exactly. But still. Enjoy!

The past three days of BKK were filled with ups and downs, of which the downs were documented through that lovely outlet of Twitter. I still have a post in me about that that I might post tomorrow or later, but I feel that it shouldn't be smooshed in with this. Because don't get me wrong, this weekend was also filled with joy and awesome and the fact that I now truly recognize how Dad's actions speak louder than just plain words. HE FEEDS ME WITH LOVE.

One of the only requests that I had coming over was that I wanted steak. Figured we'd just head for a steak-house one night or something, but little did I expect the foodapalooza that was awaiting.

SAT: OM NOM )

SUN: NOM NOM NOM )

TL;DR: HAVING A CHEF FOR A DAD IS THE BEST THING EVER.

TODAY: Well, I was thinking about seeing if I could finagle a last-minute meet-up with someone in the roughly four hours I had in town before I had to leave for the airport, and I am somewhat ashamed to say I went FUCK THIS I WANNA SHOP. And well, shop I did! Now that the haze of intense shopping madness has somewhat died down, I remain quite happy with my haul.

kaiserkuchen: (HIMYM! Laughter and joy and joyness)
OFF TO BANGKOK UNTIL MONDAY EVENING! In an act of trying to ensure I will be social and free have decided to leave my laptop behind. But I will probably end up stealing Dad's to watch shows on TV-Dome.net though ahhh. And will be semi-connected anyways thanks to my trusty BB. So this post is kind of pointless, ahaha.

See y'all on the flipside though! People who are expecting mail, I have actually bought envelopes and started filling them. So at my current rate, you will most def get things in ...two months?? Ahahaha oh man, I suck.

AND NEXT WEEK IS LATE SHIFT :(( This is good for me on Tuesday, but generally ugh. I seriously do not look forward to when it's winter and the time-delay extends the working-hours of this shift to be 4.30PM-1AM ;_____;

PS I WONDER HOW FLOODED MY APARTMENT ROOM WILL BE WHEN I GET BACK THOUGH. Accidental death by slipping on tricky water that always seeps in from the rain thanks to weird and shoddy construction? Not a way I want to go!
kaiserkuchen: (ETC! Well shit son)
........for I have bought myself a pair of Crocs. They are the semi-legit looking black ballerina ones, though the shame I felt standing in front of the display was palpable anyways. The fact of the matter is that I simply need (plastic) shoes that can be soaked to hell and back, what with the near daily TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS occuring here. My el cheapo cloth-covered sandals had reached hobo-like status and I was actually gunning for a nice pair of chic Havianas before the limited selection in Chiang Mai cock-blocked me. Then I heard Ma's voice pleading with me to get some closed-toe shoes like a normal person... and well. They actually looked nice! And were in my size! So I figured, screw the price, it should be ~comfortable at least right?

HA HA HA NO.

I had barely worn them for an hour and now have 9 different stop-sign red blisters scattered all over my toes and heels. Add this to the horrible state of my face and so much for me trying to look chic for my imminent weekend in Bangkok (HAVE I MENTIONED THAT I WILL BE IN BANGKOK FROM SATURDAY TIL MONDAY YET FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH). I hope my 3kgs weight-loss since May so far will be noticable enough to distract everyone lol.

Good thing I bought another cheap pair of plastic/soakable flip-flops for back-up purposes!
kaiserkuchen: (ETC! OH SNAP SNAP SNAP)
I can has a sad that these precious days of being slob are again numbered. I had all these plans of Facial! Massage! Go to the gym to make up for missing Friday (DAMMIT but my PT wasn't there anyways and I am so lax on my own, ahh I BLAME THE SURPRISE EARLY SHIFT CHANGE)! What did I end up doing? Spending way too much time online of course, though I got some delightful phone calls with RL friends here and skyping with Carmen and others in. Carmen is now basically the one of us living up the 20-something life. She goes out occasionally! There are Hot Dudes of Interest vying for her affection! And I am basically on the edge of my seat going TELL ME MOAAAAR as we skype XDD. I am just so super pleased for her, and it is high time that dudes finally recognize the hot slice of fabulous my dear BFF is ♥

Did get some quality mother-daughter time with Ma too, delish Dimsum lunch at the Dhara Dhevi (CASTLE IN THE SKYYYY) Oriental, followed by raiding their cake shop for sweet noms. I had cherry sherbet, bought some berry cake, a chocolate scone and a mini box of macaroons (olive! pistachio! banana passion!), as well as an intriguing Tom Kha Gai(!!!) praline.

But to fill this entry with more than just RL yammering, here are
Things on the Internet That Have Made Me Happy:
"Alex Wong from Ballet to Hip-hop" ...SYTYCD is by far one of my favorite reality shows and it almost makes me want to take dance lessons, but I still always feel to uncoordinated and am still at the phase where I dislike looking at my sweaty, red-faced self in mirrors. ALEX IS THE BEST THOUGH, oh my god I love male ballet dancers so fucking much. And that hip-hop routine in the end! BRILLIANT and those bits where he was doing the ballet moves in that street gear? *swoooooons*
Alex Wong and Billy Bell on SYTYCD ...seriously, Alex Wong would've won this fucking season, aughhh it still is so horrible that he got injured. And he just looks smoking hot here, guh. More bonus points for that particular version of "This Bitter Earth/On the Nature of Daylight" unfff that song. SHIVERING RN.
"Kombat Dancers gone haywire" ...seriously, I MEAN LOOK AT THIS DUDE. The fact that they're dancing this in such full regalia penguin suits makes everything even more extra special XDD
EVERY SINGLE THING THAT HAS TO DO WITH THE NEW OLD SPICE ADS ...SO GENIUS, THE END. The way Isiah Mustafa says HELLO LADIES (and well, everything tbqh) will never stop to crack me up <333333333. And [livejournal.com profile] ladypolitik made genius icons and animated gifs HERE!
Touhou Vid set to "Bad Apple" ...b&w and trippy as all get out. SO HYPNOTIC and just amazingly well made. It helps that I am also mildly obsessed with the song, but I know barely diddlysquat about Touhou and have already rewatched this a few times, ahh.
STAR TREK + GODGA FANART ...why didn't I realize that bits of the Alejandro are basically VULCAN PON-FARR as well sjakfhjafs ahahaha oh man I will never look at those bowl-cuts the same way again. Spock looks adorable, to boot ♥

And last but certainly not least,
25 Lives [livejournal.com profile] tongari's submission to SSBB defies description in how gorgeous, moving and brilliant it is. I have had this open in a tab for AGES, and I still don't get sick of coming back and just staring at it again and again. The second panel is one of my favorites, though all the scenarios are just. AHHH ♥ Highly recommended!
kaiserkuchen: (Fussball! Neuer approves!)
So the most rabid, ALLCAPS part of my glee has simmered down towards something more manageable, but I am still filled with warm fuzzies that the Mannschaft managed to pull together an awesome win in a seriously thrilling game against Uruguay. Twitter has never been more dear to me in these alone-in-front-of-the-TV moments and mad love towards [livejournal.com profile] mcollinknight, [livejournal.com profile] laliandra and [livejournal.com profile] apple_scruffer for always keeping me company there and have excellent taste in teams in which to support ;DDD

I am happy we managed to get third place, though part of me still wonders about the what-ifs of the game against Spain and what could have been. But! This has been a fantastic tournament showing and I am confident that these dudes will continue to improve and kick some everloving ass at the EM12 and the WM14 ♥ ALSO, IF MUELLER DOESN'T WIN BEST YOUNG PLAYER THERE IS SOMETHING DEEPLY WRONG ABOUT THE WORLD. This guy! Same goes for Neuer as goalie, because he was amazing~ (I MIGHT BE BIASED tho ahem ahem). And of course I am hoping for the other nominated German players to win big, Schweini throughout all this time has especially become FLAWLESS, AMAZING, AWESOME AND SO ON AND SO FORTH to me <3333 Still sad about Klose not getting his chance to play and try to crack Ronaldo's record though. Hang in there Miro, and stay fit enough for the EM at least, you hear??

Spending time after the games (yesterday was especially killer lol 5.30AM bedtime WHOOPS)stalking and right-click-saving my way through the party posts on [livejournal.com profile] ontd_football and other assorted picspams was another way of keeping my SCHLAAAAAAAAAAND joy on an ever constant high. And since sharing is caring, here are some of my particular favs behind the cut.

SCHLAND OH SCHLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND )

And since I promised to link this to Lal and C, the aforementioned super cute Jungs+Nutella ads!
This almost makes me want to eat Nutella rn )
IN CONCLUSION, IT WAS...
kaiserkuchen: (Fussball! SCHLAAAAND)
4 : 0 !!!!!!!!

THIS IS HOW WE FUCKING ROLL. THIS IS TEAMWORK, THIS IS PHYSICAL FITNESS, THIS IS HAVING EPIC DUDES RUNNING AROUND MAKING EPIC GOALS, RANGING FROM KABOOM POW TO SMOOTH DELICATE ACTION. THIS IS HAVING DEFENDERS NOT ONLY PUTTING THEIR BACKS, BUT THEIR FUCKING FACES INTO SAVING SHOTS. THIS IS HAVING A PRETTY DAMN FANTASTIC GOALKEEPER WHOM I STILL WANT TO FONDLE ALL OVER.

THIS IS SCHLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND ♥ ♥ ♥

and yes Argentina were pretty awesome too, BUT IT WASN'T ENOUGH WELPPPP. Man I do not want to be in their locker-room right now. BRING ME TO THE GERMAN ONE INSTEAD and akjdhjshda BALLACK CAME TO CHEER THEM ON and ANGELA MERKEL WAS THERE AND AHHHHH. If only Mueller weren't out for the next match :<<< THIS JUST MEANS MIRO HAS TO MAKE MOAAAR GOALS THOUGH. TOTALLY DOABLE.

I wonder what Paul will predict for our next match??

PS THOSE BLACK KITS THE JUNGS HAD ON? DAMN SONNNN THAT'S HOT. Oezil looks particularly fetching/adorbs in that color. And speaking of fashion, I SAW YOU JOGI LOEW, LEANING ON THE POSTS, BEING ALL GQ :DDDD

PPS I MISS BEING ABLE TO MAKE UMLAUTS ON MY LAPTOP UGH.
kaiserkuchen: (Fussball! SCHLAAAAND)
♥ ♥ ♥ SCHLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND ♥ ♥ ♥

oh my god this game. I was at the edge of my seat FOR MOST OF IT and the jungs were so fantastic! I fully admit that that second goal of the Brits should've been counted and it would've been wonky if the end score would've been 2: THEORETICALLY 2

BUT

IT WASN'T AND IT WAS 4: 1 THEORETICALLY 2 and KLOSE SCORED AND POLDI SCORED AS DID MUELLER TWICE

and Oezil was quick like lightning and totally adorable

and NEUER.

HOT DAMN, SON. He was fine and IS FINE and I am kind of totally maybe nurturing a sudden wee crush ahem strapping young tallish blond man QUELLE SURPRISE SELF, QUELLE SURPRISE. /has a type

AND WHAT IS POSSIBLY THE BEST PART OF THIS WHOLE GAME? There is a very high likelihood that most of Germany will be so hungover tomorrow that hardly anybody will call. I mean, the likelihood of 95% of our staff being hungover like hell is also super high, but yeah. Or at the very least we'll have happy callers :Db

brb prepping my outfit for tomorrow fuck yeah what should I wear with my Mannschaftstrikot~~~ ♥

PS also I heard from someone on my FB that there was a ~PSYCHIC OCTOPUS that predicted a Germany win. WELL CLEARLY THE OCTOPUS IS ALWAYS RIGHT.
kaiserkuchen: (Queen B! Oh mah gaaaawd)
First: Saturday I got my laptop back and EVERYTHING WORKS and my data from 2010 was completely salvaged and words are inadequate in describing how utterly relieved I felt. It's now almost like I have a new laptop, the com guys added some new programs and I even got Adobe Illustrator added in to the mix besides the Photoshop I explicitly wanted them to put in. Looking forward to puttering with it some more and making it my own alllll over again ♥

Second: BUT what pisses me off to no end is that my computer refuses to recognize my German keyboard, fiddling with the language and regional settings be damned. It makes for some hella weird typing, as the Y/Z switcheroo I can mostly anticipate and correct for, but uh ALL OTHER THINGS like the various punctuation marks are really confusing. I mostly have a 50/50 chance of hitting those ones, which leads to situations like actually having to type out QUESTION MARK in skype chat in lieu of the sign, because that actually took less time. I really hope I can work this out, as the coms at the office all use the German keyboard, and it's just extremely irritating as all my reflex keyboard shortcuts on PS are totally borked. Speaking of which, made some more progress on my BB pic! Still have some small details bothering me on the title picture that I feel I should get over and done with before I start with another one, ahhh it's just so slow working since I keep screwing up my commands :|||

Third: Training on Friday went well, small stupid mishaps here and there not counted... though I seem to be doing alright based on my feedback evaluation thing. I kind of don't trust it, as it seems weirdly high and positive, but I guess I am just still so thrown by how friendly and nice everyone is here? I should've spent the weekend studying up on my responses and the like, but I hope that tomorrow morning before I head in will suffice. Apparently if Training Officer deems me ready, I might start my first 8-hour shift tomorrow! I am mostly nervous and just aughhhh about it, the thought of EIGHT HOURS of those phone calls is kind of daunting. But ahh well, nothing to be done. THINK OF THE CASH MONEY, SELF! Also, I will be moving into my new swank pad tomorrow, right smack dab near work and a posh supermarket and the giant shopping center that has my gym. So, yayyy for that part! It has a teeny-weeny INTENSELY PINK balcony that has a view of the mountains around Chiang Mai, as well as the planes taking off/landing from the airport nearby. What it additionally has is a collection of hideously kitschy fake flowers in vases and creepy bedlinen, but that can be dealt with and the place generally has its own charm~~
kaiserkuchen: (Shaun of the Dead! Just kill me now)
I seem to have fallen into that same old trap of living life in such a chillax way that I a) completely lose track of time passing (see also: mistaking last Saturday for Friday and nearly missing a Skype date with Carmen) and b) thus completely failed at posting. A few things have changed since I last posted! Bangkok is not so much with the distressing FIRE FIRE FIRE now and the quick trip Dad and I made to town today was even filled with traffic, so it was almost like everything is somewhat back to normal again. He's back to work tomorrow, and I look forward to what tales he has to tell then (apparently back when Shit Was Going Down, some stray gunfire even hit the hotel-- like way up in the 32nd floor even. How the fuck some people were aiming is clearly not the question one is supposed to ask). I am torn between just ignoring Current Affairs for a while now, though I did like the fact that over 4,000 Bangkokians showed up to help clean the streets of the worst-affected areas downtown. It was totally heartwarming viewing, ngl, especially as Bangkokians often get a bad rep that is lobbed at capital city residents (though sometimes not exactly undeserved) for being selfish and occupied with their own problems over such community activities.
Still, I feel the need to link this vid as a reminder to myself as well just how utterly atrocious the militant Red leaders were (and how awful Thaksin is, which is like a given though). One is still in hiding, afaik, and may he be smoked out like the filthy rat he is. "Bangkok Ablaze"-- it even has English subs, so that you may be horrified as well!

I will try to make either a long overdue picsss post or a TV/book/fanfic rec post soon, because if there is something I have been doing a lot of, it has been watching TV and reading (fic or otherwise). And tweeting, actually. Having a handheld mobile does wonders for my usage of Twitter, as it is perfect for those times when TV is boring me, but I am far too lazy to actually get out of my fantastically comfortable chair, walk up the stairs and switch on the computer.

Another thing that I have started is my BB art, which of course is due as a rough draft on the 1st of June. Lolol oh didn't I want to start earlier this time? Hee, oh well~~
